So what's everyone's rankings of 2014's CBMs?

1- "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"
2- "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"
3- "X-Men: Days of Future Past"
4- "Guardians of the Galaxy"
5- "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For"

For me, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" was the best. But I enjoyed "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" more.

I should look at both as fun adventure movies, I really should.

hmmmmmm well based on the oscars point of view it seems that Lord of the Rings is in fact better. This is just on a statistical view. Hear this: I WILL NEVER EVER SAY THAT ANOTHER PERSONS OPINION IS WRONG. but in this case, Lord of the Rings is better. I mean, come on, it TOLKIEN for crying out loud.

agreed but I have yet to see an argument that says why Star Wars is better than LOTR. I just used the oscars thing to get the ball rolling.

Either people are ignoring this little debate or they are typing up long and elaborate explanations as to why Star Wars is indeed better than Lord of the Rings.

I love Star Wars but there isn't anything on this planet that compares to LOTR.

Lord of the Rings has a much more elaborate story along with better characters. Frodo was just a young hobbit of the shire who loved his Uncle. When his Uncle moves away, Frodo finds out that his uncle gave him his beloved ring and Frodo also finds out that he has to journey to Mount Doom to destroy it. There are many examples of friendship and courage that is present in Lord of the Rings. You don't see much of that in Star Wars. Actually, there is a little of bit of incest in Star Wars, ugh. Anyways, Frodo says that he wishes the ring had never come to him and that none of this had happened, but Gandalf replies "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." So Frodo sums up the courage to go to Mordor and destroy the ring of power to save all of Middle Earth. He carries a heavy burden, and he is the only one that is fit to do the task. The story of Lord of the Rings is much more complex and heartfelt than the story of Star Wars. There is much more character development. Also, there is an entire HISTORY of everything to do with Middle-Earth behind Lord of the Rings. The world of Middle-Earth, although smaller than space lol, is much more genuinely expressed and it shows a complex and beautiful imagery of the coexistance of different people in the world.
