3 should be revamped somehow.

I still don't get what happened with part3, they didn't change directors, and Sam's a fan, so what the heck was he thinking?! I mean come on!

The whole movie's a disaster, and it started off so well with 1 and 2 then, this crap.

Movies like this are why fans freak out about sequels, they're afraid someone'll give in to garbage ideas or letting the studio get too much influence and ruining the series.

Spidey 3 just does not fit in a time of Ironman and The incredible Hulk. Now that Marvel's got its act together and is doing faithful movies, it's weird that the only franchise they had before that was faithful to the books is now all goofy. That crap with Peter dancing and the JJJ scene about his meds and the loud buzzer, very stupid and over done. Campy as Batman and Robin. And if ya don't wanna' go that far then at least as campy as Batman Forever.

It's a shame. Well Marvel studios is doing faithful movies so I'm sure they'll be on top of cleaning up Spider-man, and if four is fixed up I guess I'll have to act like 3 never happened. There's no way I'll watch it. I sold my dvd on ebay I just couldn't bring myself to watch it anymore.

What they should have done was go with GG 2, it was nice to have continuity with that storyline through the movies, but they could have given him a frickin' costume, not that dumb snow boarder outfit.

If three had been done now the way things are it would be way better. What a difference a year makes, and when a company finally gets control of their properties.

Sandman would have been fine aswell just none of that B.S. about him killing Ben that was dumb, far fetched crap. Cheap very cheap.
Just to try to shock fans. Do that with a good story, not cheap tactics.

And no Venom till he can get his own movie to himself. Then have Pete's clothes change from the suit, not wearing black over it, the cool visual of the suit is his outfits changing from the symbiote.

And as for MS doing things faithfully now, time to remake DD, X-men, and FF.

They aren't going to revamp a recent movie especially a high grossing one.

Yeah, like they're gonna listen to whiney fanboys while this film was the highest grossing film of 2007. This is reality. They're not gonna suddenly remake something that in your mind is bad. It came out last year for God's sake. If you're thinking they can pull a Batman(which I know you must be thinking) it's not like B&R. That movie bombed miserably both critically and financially. So you know what you have to do? Grit your teeth, get the hell over it, and hope that SM4 is a great film.

Well, what I would like to see Marvel do is release an all new animated movie(straight to dvd)that re-tells the story of the black suit and Venom. Make it very dark and gritty, kinda like the Batman:Gotham Night animated movies. Maybe even have Tobey,Topher and co do the voice overs.
I'd be completely happy with that.

I dont think Spider-man 3 was as bad as many made out.
It wasnt as good as 2 but Spider-man 2 is my favourite superhero movie of all time.

I still thought it was a good movie, we had just been spoiled by how good 1 & 2 were.

This movie is no where near Batman and Robin, or even Batman Forever. Go watch them again.

I can't ever see a similarity.
Spider-Man 3 had just as many hokey things as 1 and 2 did. It just got mixed up with people because they were expecting something really dark and grim. It had it's dark moments just as one and two did.

The strutting scene is considered funny by some, and bad by others. I liked it. More so than "Raindrops Are Falling On My Head" in Spider-Man 2. That was a little cheesy too. But I liked it still. The scene in the jazz club was hardly hokey at all to me. It was actually kind of grim for Spidey. Dancing like THAT, glaring at MJ at the very end (all of it was to make her mad), then ***** slapping her afterwards. I loved it all. And the music was catchy.

So basically, Spidey 3 was just the same as 1 and 2 for me humor wise. 1 and 2 are better, but 3 is still freaking great in my eyes.

I loved Batman and Batman Returns. Forever was meh, Batman and Robin was God awful. No movie can ever be that bad again. Not even Catwoman.

I really liked the use of "Raindrops" in SM2. Peter has had all these bad things happen to him. If you listen to the lyrics, it really makes sense for what Peter's been through. Then at the end of the freeze frame of Peter, he's finally happy. Hence the last line: "Nothing's worryin' me."

I know.

I did like it. But it's cheesy.

I disagree with your opinion. They crossed the line, sir. The strutting scene was just god-awful, awful. It should be funny, but it isn't. It's just offensive, cringe worthy stuff. Which I guess kinda was the point, but I didn't like it one bit. It was too much, and too long for it's own good. So over the top. The strutting in SM2 worked because it wasn't an over the top thing, it was silly, but you went along with it.

The jazz-dance was pretty bad, too. As a deleted scene, it would have been awesome! But in the movie, well, it was too much. Did you really thought it was grim? I mean, it'd not exactly my idea of a grim spidey moment, which the movies have had. The music was catchy though. **UUuuhoough ouhhhh** and something like that.

So basically, Spidey 3 was just the same as 1 and 2 for me humor wise. 1 and 2 are better, but 3 is still freaking great in my eyes.

Kay...

Just wanted to point this out:

Sandman would have been fine aswell just none of that B.S. about him killing Ben that was dumb, far fetched crap. Cheap very cheap.

That was far fetched? :funny:

I viewed the strutting scene as him killing Sandman (or thought so anyway), throwing a bomb at Harry. humiliating Eddie and getting him fired, and then feeling great about it.

It worked with the montage of clips they were showing. If it were just a 3 minute scene of him strutting then that's too much for me.

I don’t believe camp can really be an argument against it.
There are plenty of people out here who say, and I agree, that SM1 and SM2 had the same level of cheese as SM3.
Kids, women screaming, people singing spidey tunes, pizza scene, elevator scene, doctor scene, phone scene…to me they were all just as cringe worthy as that other stuff in three.
On the other hand, I also think that people have more of a problem with ‘how’ events happen in SM3, instead of ‘what’ happens. In the same away I didn’t like the ‘how’ in SM2. I guess many people wanted MJ and Peter to be together no matter what and any melodrama filled plot was good enough for them. I am for the same result but not for the way it was handled. I did care for what happened in SM3 because there was much more than ‘love’, which Sam Raimi and co. can’t write in my opinion, to concentrate on. So for me the end justified the means. But I guess people who can’t stand SM3, can’t bring themselves to care as much as I did.

How were these cringworthy? The doctor scene was great. It's ironic that it takes a doctor to show him that. And the phone scene was some of Maguire's best acting. Acting in front of a rotating camera the whole time while talking is difficult. And that other stuff. Guess what? It's in the comics. Kids being saved people rooting for Spidey. He's your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. And I loved the pizza scene. Begins with him talking dreamily about MJ to snapping back to reality and his troubles.

I think Spidey 3 would be lessy "cheesy" to some if there were MORE serious black suit scenes. We only had a few.

Take what we had, add some more and I think people would have liked it more.

Personally,as I've said before,I liked Spider-man 3. There were cheesy moments,Venom/black suit were wasted and it could've been SO much better....but,it is still a damn good film and certainly the one of the most entertaining films I've ever seen.
As far as the "cheese" goes,I think all 3 films had really corny/cheesy moments but I think the reason why it kinda dragged Spider-man 3 down in because this was supposed to be the darkest, and most serious of the 3 films.

change the ending...the entire final fight...or the last 45 minutes...introduce venom at the end of the movie and dont kill him off or whatever they did...

I think the closest thing to a revamp is Vash's fan edit. I'm telling you guys, he's really onto something. Check out the thread. He's even got some sample clips and they're really great!

Just because it adds to the story doesn’t make it less cringe worthy. Rain Drops and Jazz Club Dancing added to the story just as much.
“It’s not even my dream. It’s a friend of mine's dream…”
“Amazing isn’t it…how a simple thing like that can become so complicated...”
I mean, come on, I was right there with the doctor and MJ rolling my eyes when he said those lines.

Guess what? I didn’t like Stan Lee’s Spider-Man run either.

I was more talking about the end of it with the secretary.
The more I watch Peter struggling with those brooms, the more stupid it becomes.

It’s one thing not to like the movie, but it’s a completely different level of hate and insult to the filmmakers, when you engage in illegal activates just to turn a fracking popcorn flick into your own fantasy version. Doesn’t that dude have more important things to do in his life?
It’s like christian fundamentalists protesting against homosexuality. It’s stupid and insulting.

First off, it's not a fantasy version. And he's not insulting the filmmakers. He's bringing out the great things that were SM3 and trying to improve upon it's foundations. He's doing it for us. And he has never gone out of the way to do something illegal. That's probably the last thing on his mind. Jesus, man, it's a freaking edit. You're taking it too seriously.

And the secretary thing. I thought it was funny. And at the doctors, what else is he gonna say other than it was a friend of his dream.

And it's really a shame you don't care for what started the character. People have built upon the Lee/Ditko era and his character. But that Spidey has always been present since.

Alot of stuff in Spider-Man you can't stop from being cringeworthy. It's part of the fun and cheese of the character.

It was kinda silly, but as cringe worthy as the strutting/dancing in SM3, or Macy Gray?

Maybe he has nothing else to do. I mean, posting on message boards? Pfft.

And at the doctors, what else is he gonna say other than it was a friend of his dream.
Something less ******ed, like sticking to his previous words - his own dream.

And it's really a shame you don't care for what started the character.
Based on kid monologues and women screaming I don’t care for the character’s origins?
As much as I don’t like the way Stan Lee wrote the character, it’s the ‘what’ that matters, not the ‘how’.
I trust you can make the distinction.

People have built upon the Lee/Ditko era and his character. But that Spidey has always been present since.
Are we still talking about the cheesy humour? Because it’s not there anymore. At least it wasn’t there for the most part, while I was still reading the main spidey titles.

Alot of stuff in Spider-Man you can't stop from being cringeworthy. It's part of the fun and cheese of the character.
But that wasn’t the point I was making.
I wasn’t saying to get rid of the humour, even though it should be improved into something more tasteful. I was saying that Raimi’s Spider-Man maintains that same comedy style in all movies and to argue that SM3 is lesser than the previous two, based on how cringe worthy it was, is useless.

First off, it's not a fantasy version.
As much as discussing a guy and his work off topic may sound lame:
How is it not a fantasy version?

And he's not insulting the filmmakers.
A dilettante basically taking someone else’s work and saying that he’d do a better job at it is not insulting?

He's bringing out the great things that were SM3 and trying to improve upon it's foundations.
By butchering it? If all those great things and foundations are there, why not just ignore the bad parts instead?
That’s a whole different level of frustration with a work of fiction.

He's doing it for us.
I’m not part of your ‘us’.

And he has never gone out of the way to do something illegal. That's probably the last thing on his mind.
You may not like Beyonce Knowles’ music but taking her songs and remixing them into your own taste is illegal.

Jesus, man, it's a freaking edit. You're taking it too seriously.
I wouldn’t say so but maybe I am. That’s just the way I react to arrogance.
But you’re giving it the same level of importance - he’s on to something? Please.
So it’ll be just an internet curiosity. Anyone else’s opinion can have as much weight, his is no different.

It was kinda silly, but as cringe worthy as the strutting/dancing in SM3, or Macy Gray?
Oh yes, definitely.
Especially as Macy Gray. Worst popculture icon insert ever.
They were all pitiful.

Maybe he has nothing else to do. I mean, posting on message boards? Pfft.
Haha, maybe you’re right.

Haha, maybe you’re right.

Dude, easy. I never wanted to get into an argument. But he's not saying he can do a better job than Raimi. Go over to the board and see what he says. It's what I told you. But you should give Vash a chance. Even though you may not like SM3, that's fine, but you should give his edit a try. He's trying to do something great, if you don't like that, fine. And by just taking out the bad parts won't make sense for the story. When editing, you shoudn't edit for the sake of taking something out you don't like. It has to make sense. He's doing what's appropriate for the story.

And I'm not being arrogent. All I'm saying is that you should loosen up when it comes to that stuff. It's for fun and shows people what the editor's interpretation can do with that filmmaker's vision. It's interesting. Especially when it turns out well.

But to each his own. All I'm saying is that all you have to do is glance over at the thread.
