Did anyone else think Chloe looked really quite spectactular in the dream. I think she looked amazing. Best i have ever seen her look.

I thought the extensions were a nice touch for the story, but I honestly love the way she's been wearing her hair this season much more. Her hairstyles are always cute, but it's better than ever this season, IMO.

Great review Hulk. I have to admit something hasnt been sitting right with me with regards to Chloe over the last couple of episodes. Maybe I'll have a different perspective after the 100th episode when I know her true fate.

What an awesome episode

I don't see why people say this is a SW rip-off. It's more like a parallel between the two. Lex failed to understand that a life of love is not only about happiness, but about pain and sacrifice. And he hated the fact that someone with more power and money practically ruined his life. He'd hate a life like that, even if it's full of love. That's why at the end he realised that money and power can get him everything he wants and "make it stay that way".

Truly sad, really.

I noticed that the first viewing, actually... Funny.

They usually aren't quite that obvious about the girls getting up onto their boxes.

I saw that when I watched it too, but I didn't think it was a goof. I'm still not sure it was because she then steps off of it and they walk towards the camera and have a few more lines together without her being on it. So why would they do it in one part of the scene and not the other?

I noticed it the second time I watched the ep but kept forgetting to post about it. I watched the ep again today and remembered it - 'cause I'm still laughing LOL - so I made a point to not forget this time. Hysterical!

Even funnier is when Welling scoots *down* in tight shots so his head is in frame. I can't watch the scene with Clark and Lex at the end of Asylum w/o laughing because of that, and that's NOT the reaction they were going for, I'm sure. LOLOLOL!!

I agree with you about the lame B-plot that Welling got stuck doing, the only thing that made it worth watching was when Clark was superspeeding through the city. Very cool effect that was.

Also when the kid caught Clark, and Clark took the milk and cookies. Funny stuff.

One thing I forgot to mention was that I loved the lighting in the library when Lionel was there... it was blue like in Metropolis and I thought that was a nice touch. Made Lionel seem colder than he was.

I love this show! It's so beautifully shot it's like a mini-movie every week!

Speaking of, I like that they give most of their characters their own mood lighting/set.

Glover - Ice Blues and such
Tom - Usually a warm sun lit glow, or darker reds if in a bad situation
MR - Greys, blacks, stonish colors
Kents - Wheat yellows, woodish browns

It's just a really neat way of showing their respective personalities.

I don't agree with this.. It was meaningful in a sense that good spirit of celebrating something sacred was reviewed/played out in a very decent and amusing way with Santa/Clark Chloe/Santa scenes.. Not to mention bigger picture, parallel of Santa / Lex straying off the good paths in life, however stretchfull it might seem..

Why you and Hulk treat it as just cheesy or/either meaningless beats me, you are smart people..
(I recommend watching Polar Express - that might cure it )

I said it only got cheesey at the end with the disappearing gifts. I actually didnt mind that storyline with Clark and Santa up until that point.

I actually really liked the scenes of Clark delivering the gifts, and scarfing the cookies. Even the part where he was talking to/saving Santa on the roof wasnt bad.

I liked the Santa story as well, and whilst the ending was a little out there, it was all about Christmas and may have been put in there for the kiddies.

Oh and by the way I've watched a couple of older episodes and there is a step between the living area and the dining area at the Kent home. So I think Lana was taking an actual step up rather than stepping on to a crate.

Yeah, that was strectching it a bit. I loved how Clark was snatching the cookies and even talking a drunken Santa out of suicide, but him being the real Santa? That's a little too out there...even for a comic based show. Also, its sending out a great message to kids seeing Santa wasted and about to jump off a roof.
