I missed this post. Whoops!

Don't get me wrong, MJZ, I like him. I think he's got a good story, and I'm glad he's on the show. I definitely don't mind looking at him either LOL. But his acting didn't blow my skirt up. He was almost robotic in his delivery, and funnily enough, it reminded me of another poor performance by a newbie actor, which shall go unmentioned. ;)

Chris Carabott reviewed the ep (Sneeze) over at IGN. I think he nailed it...

(excerpt)

Justin Hartley will be playing the role of Queen for approximately seven episodes this season. Previously, Hartley played Aquaman in the defunct television pilot Mercy Reef. Hopefully, at some point during these seven episodes, Hartley's acting will catch up with the character. It may be best to give him episodes to "flesh out" the character but his initial impression is pretty disappointing. There didn't appear to be any real inflection in his voice and his attempts at sarcasm leave a lot to be desired...

"Sneeze" is an all-round well-written and well-paced effort that uses a smart mix of humor and thrills to tell a fun story. The only disappointment that can be noted in this episode is the stale acting of Justin Hartley that will hopefully be remedied once he gets comfortable with his new role. If Oliver Queen can work on screen; who knows how many other future Justice League characters may pop up in the near future?

Fair enough, just I tend to agree with Hulk's analysis--I definitely noted a difference between the scene with Lionel and the end scene.

At any rate, we'll see how he does this week!

yeah it's just one of those things you "get" upon repeat viewings.
I dunno, Hulk. There's a difference between acting different because the character has ulterior motives, or is "possessed," or is just not himself. We see that stuff all the time on SV, and it's usually very well done. But with Hartley, you see *him* - the actor - acting. Hard to explain, but I'm not seeing the character yet like I did in the Pilot with Clark, Lex or even Lana. I'm just seeing an actor deliver his lines kinda so so. I think Hartley needs to "find" Oliver and make the character his own. Right now, he's just sort of coasting the script.

That said, he's only been in two short scenes. I'm being critical but it's not my intention to bash him or SV, unlike what others sometimes do here. ;)

So what episode will Clark be shot with a Kryptonite arrow?

i think he was going for "smug" rather than sincere or sarcastic so it came out as cardboard.

The episode interview with Gough and Millar in the Smallville Magazine, says that this villain is the first of the PZ villains.

That's the villain in Wither?

I thought the villain was some strange creature that used bodies to procreate?

I knew it .

I'm pretty excited about tonight's episode. Not only do we get a Phantom Zone creature, but we also get Green Arrow doing the whole hero thing.:woot:

Did you see the previews for the episode? I'm not talking the costume ball, he does the costumed crime fighter bit starting this episode too.:o

I thought that was just a preview for the character himself, not the episode.

That footage is from Arrow. What you're gonna see tonight is Ollie inviting Lois at Lex's ball dressed up as Robin Hood.

Green Arrow will obviously make his official debut next week in his official episode.

He will be. It just wont be his official costume. :woot:

I wonder if his sudden interest in funding Martha's senate seat has to do with the fact that he wants to get closer to that "somebody else with other abilities."

Should be a good episode..... and I have a little theory about the Lexana sex scene too. :cwink:

Wasnt sure if anyone would be interested, but since you ask......

The main objective of this villain is to procreate. So she needs to do something to her partners to engage them in procreation, other than just acting hot and sexy, cause she certainly doesnt look hot and sexy in that clip that's on The CW site. I think she may have the ability to take on the appearance of whomever she chooses.

Fast forward Lex and Lana sex scene. Is it really Lana, or is it the Park Ranger appearing as Lana to Lex?

I'm not blind to the fact that Lex and Lana will eventually do it, but I just dont think after the events of the last two episodes that Lana would be willing to jump into bed with Lex just yet.

Hmmm....you might be right there.

I agree with the fact that it would be a bit premature *achem* to jump into bed together yet. So this episode might be "Species" in Smallville. :cwink:

It occurred to me as well, how does she plant her seeds in Jimmy?

And why does Lana have her seductive costume on, and Lex is in his usual shirt and pants outfit?

I keep thinking that for some reason, if she ends up *having* a baby eventually, it could end up as one of Lex's... well, you know... sins past. If I'm not mistaken Lex has had one or two illegitimate children. Of course, that wouldn't mean too much, since the show will not continue to become a Superman Adventures show.
However, and I'm basing this on the assumption that Lana and Lex will eventually break up, it could be used to make Lana more independent and stron or another way I can't think of right now. Of course this comes from me, who loved the idea of Superman having a kid in SR (not just the idea, but the kid himself) or Superman having a kid in general.
I do think that Lana comes as a type of character who could end up getting pregnant because of her acting too emotionally. I guess we'll have to see.
