So " Reunion" is actually about Lex and Oliver's 10 year high school reunion. Seems that when they were 15, Oliver and his rich pals were pretty much *******s, tormenting Lex and his only friend, Duncan. Duncan is a greasy haired comic book reading geek and he and Lex hung out together until Lex weaseled hs way into Olivers little group and joined in the hassling of Duncan. He jumps or is pushed off the school roof.
So where is Duncan during the big reunion party? In a vegetative state, wheelchair bound, being experimented on by doctors at the behest of one Lionel Luthor.

Sorry Marta, it's true. The way it goes down is this; Lex & Duncan are each others only friends. They see Oliver and his two pals stealing some exam answers. Duncan wants to use it to get them kicked out, Lex wants to use it to force them(Oliver etc) to be nice to him and Duncan. He tells Oliver this but when Duncan freaks out lex ends up beating him up. Crushed, Duncan runs away and next thing we know, he falls off the roof.
Flash forward the reunion where one of Olivers old pals shows up and starts drunk talking about the old days, including that 'loser" Duncan. Naturally he is killed when a sword falls from a statue of a knight in full armor.
Seems the treatment that Duncan is getting, a needle full of glowing green liquid, allows him to get his revenge.
Lois is Olivers date at the reunion, and Lana is Lex's date.

Lots of parties going on early in the season.

I was afraid it was going to be a FOW episode.

It's ok though, I'm hoping we get a little bit of insight into Lex's school years, and it's pretty great we'll get to see him and Ollie's past together.

I dont know why people stress on the FOTW. They clearly are an accepted part of the show, it all depends on if it's a good FOTW or a crappy one.

For the most part, I don't mind them. If they are done well, I like having someone for Clark to fight.

When done well, the FOTW can be remarkable...

So often they are done poorly and people blame the show's ills on the FOTW when the fault isn't in the concept of the one shot villains, but in the execution for a particular episode.

Some of the better shows have been FOTW shows, like Ryan or Obsession.

Some of the worst ones have had not a single krypto freak in sight, like Lucy or Velocity.

Mortal's villians were super great. (I know, Trip, you hated the twins. )

I loved Electroball man though. Plus they were truly menacing enemies for once.

Yeah, I hate it when the villains aren't truly villainous...

I was just rewatching some STAS episodes yesterday and I tell ya, as good as that show was sometimes their villains sucked.

And I didn't remember that Gilbert Godfried was Mxy... As annoying as his voice is, he's nearly perfect for that part.
