Teachers unions are only problems in the North. Here in the south there are none. And tenure I've never seen used outside of colleges here.

Really. I honestly don't see any of that here.Tenure is there, you may not hear about it, but its there. Teachers that have taught 10+ years in a district are hard as hell to get rid of if there is a problem. Most districts require an enormous amount of documentation over a 2 year period before firing a teacher that has a number of years in that district and is no longer on a probationary contract.
The South DOES have Teacher's Unions we just don't call them Unions, we call them Teacher's Organizations, and you get a lawyer with sign up just like you do with the Unions in the North, and ACTUALLY, these organizations have some of the largest lobby power that rivals that of the Northern Teacher's Unions...
