Spider-Man IS a cartoony character, he´s a man who moves like no human being can, that will never look entirely realistic, would they in theory do a lot of motion capture, say? They would, but they would have to downplay it a lot cuz of the distances and complexity of movements and we´d lose a lot of the spectacle and vertigo and kinetic energy of Spider-man, you see a human being moving with a speed and impulse that no human being can, something in your brain will always tell you something is wrong, the idea that Spider-Man can do all those spectacular things and still look totally realistic is nothing but a fanboy illusion, period.

I can agree with the people in this thread complaining over the shot right after Harry picks up Peter, and they go loose on each other; it DOES look pretty obvious to be CG!!! It bugs me too! And like I explained before, I can't understand how there can be that BIG of a CG differents in this film! AGREED!???....

Take a look at the shot where Peter is falling down with the debree flipping around as we see him trying hard to stay on it... First we see a long shot and we ultimate believe that it's CG because there's no way that it could be done in real life. Then -IN THAT SAME SHOT- we zoom in on Peter on the debree, waaaay in on a close-up, and it's DEFINITLY Tobey!!! That shot is so impressive, that's why it bugs the HELL out of me when I see those small CG images that makes my toes crumble!

I really think you guys are overreacting to this, and simply the 7 minute clip and this EXTREMELY SHORT CLIP are not complete. They likely included the new shots in this clip because we haven't seen them before- but in the movie it will all flow nicely together.

Because Sam Raimi lacks the ability to tell spider-man's story properly and within the means of 3 films. As movies, they're not bad but as spider-man movies, so far they're quite bad.

If he did it like in the comics it would be like in a Spanish series....and then we need Liz Alen and Ned Leeds and he should fall in love with Betty but he doesnt like Betty so he hates Ned even though he isnt interested in her anymore, and then he likes Liz ...and then he doesnt and then he likes Gwen and then she gets killed and then he starts dating M.J...you see,if they did it like in the comics it will be a mess,in a comic book world with thousand of issues it's great but in a 2 hour movie....***in Borat's voice*** NOT

Those few CG images that makes my "toes crumble" as I say, they dont ruin the movie for me at all; but they BUG me, seriously!!

And these clips that's posted on IGN (though I haven't seen any other than the Pete VS. Harry fight clip), I think you better come to realize that they ARE the final product!... and that little CG image of Pete and Harry hitting each other in the begining of the clip really is quite noticable! (funny thing is, if you pause it and go at that sequence image by image it DOESN'T look bad... But play it at full speed you notice it with the same!)

It has nothing to do with his movements. The cartoony look has everything to do with how the light bounces off of the CG character's fabric and the rendering. If done improperly, it gives it a rubbery look. If done correctly, you'll have a harder time figuring out if the character is CG or not.

No because the spider-man stories have never been all about MJ, as the movies have you believe (go see sm1)
One of the things about PP is that his life is all about growth and how he deals with his relationships with people. That, includes GIRLS! . Exploring love interests would have made the films more tolerable and given more depth to Peter's character. 4 of spidey's love interests from the comics could have been explored in the form of, Liz, Betty, MJ and Gwen. Had te films been subject to better writing and pacing this could hae been acievable but no, Rami feeds us this bull crap about Peter pining over MJ since the dawn of time and people lke you lap it up without question, get real

Raimi was going to use Gwen first. In fact he wanted to do the "Night Gwen Stacy Died" story for Spidey 1. You can thank Avi Arad for the bass-ackward tale we got.

Well in a movie world it does...the 4 love interests were in comic book in a period of 13 years and you want that in 3 movies?
