82nd Annual Academy Awards

The fact they spent a bajillion dollars on their effects shouldn't trump the amazingness that D9 did with such a limited budget.
I heart you.

And the announcer saying the best director award like that... has me worried they are going to throw another award under the bus by giving it to Precious. :cmad:

Well, I only assumed that people watching this show actually cared about great films.

Winning Best Picture doesn't make you a great film any more than winning Best Actor makes you a great actor.

Why? It's horrible, I'm surprised it got nominated for anything.
The visual effects weren't horrible. I suppose with such a strong year for visual effects and with only 3 slots for nominations, I suppose the Academy sticks to the deal breaker--where the movie that uses visual effects most effectively and not just looks the best, deserves higher regard.

So what was up with George Clooney being all sourface earlier? My friend said some red carpet interviewer pissed him off but I came in late.

I watched Food Inc a few days ago and it was pretty captivating..

WTF is Minkowski doing here?!

Fisher Stevens, wasn't he the racist Indian caricature in Short Circuit?

That guy from the COVE movie had a Sign when he went on stage but the camera cut away from it. What did it say??

Uh oh. Tyler Perry....

I wonder if he feels uncomfortable when he's not dressed like an elderly woman... I mean, he does it so damn much, I imagine it's like a second skin for him.
