That's my point. How can you judge yourself if you don't watch it yourself?
Oscar nod or not, that doesn't matter--the film itself can be anything that's held in high regard.

I think the real dividing line for people is how much do they care about watching great films? I suppose I'm in the minority where I couldn't care less if the movie doesn't appeal to me.

If it's a great movie, then obviously its appeal shouldn't matter. But how can you judge for sure if you've never seen it?
