So,

With the start of Hot Tub Time Machine and the influences of the 80s..I wanna get you all opinion on a true masterpiece of 80s cinema.

Freddy's Revenge

Its definately a winner of a flick!:awesome:

Nightmare parts 1-5 are from the 80's what made you single out part 2?

This was the first Nightmare I remember watching on VHS and I still like it despite the bad rep it gets, the scene where Jesse is becoming Freddy and you see the skin off his arms shredding is awesome, the music by Christopher Young who went on to do Hellraiser is good too.

I think most fans hate if because it took Freddy out of the dream world and the main lead dude Jesse being sort of a nancy boy didn't help either.

Actually, I just watched this like 3 nights ago, and I forgot how much I liked it. When I i first saw it I never did care for it, but now I really love it. In fact, I love the first 3 period. 4 is great too (and my username-sake). 5 is absolutely terrible. 6 has its moments but is undeniably stupid. New nightmare is a decent horror movie, but not a decent Freddy movie imho. And Freddy vs Jason is fun, but campy.
I'm getting off topic here, so just call me a fan of Nightmare 2!

IT was a good film, but could have been better if there was more Freddy. Freddy was damn scary in it though.

This movie has the best look/make-up of Freddy ever.

This movie gets a lot of flak, but I really enjoyed it. Freddy was scary, had the best make up job of the series, some really cool kills. I mean that pool party scene was awesome.

I even liked Jessie, and his gf, Lisa. Not as good as Nancy or Kristin, but they were good characters.

I think it's a great film as well, despite some really bad scenes (mainly him dancing in his bedroom ).

I really liked the overall idea though, and it really did feel a bit uneasy. More so than the others I think. The cinematography was really nice and realistic, as was Freddy's make up and teeth.

Is this the one with the dog pissing fire? I still like Dream Warriors the best.

I agree with all of those who say his makeup is the best in this movie. It's actually really creepy.

LOL! that would be part 4, Dream Master.

And I actually feel that Freddy's Revenge has a more 80's feel to it I think because it features more high school scenes and the music too along with the horny teens at the pool party.

Hahaaha, this film is hilarious.

The coach making him do laps at night....Ohhhhh!

A great horror film despite the hints of homo eroticisim throughout the movie that you never really noticed or cared about when you watched the movie as a kid.

He he funny and even the director Jack Sholder mentions it on the DVD extra that came with the box set that it wasn't his intention for the movie to appear homoerotic but he did like how the makeup on Freddy sort of made him look like a male witch with the curved nose.

Yes the Freddy make-up is good and the movie has couple of really scary moments but overall it's boring as f**k and the lead character is ridiculously annoying. Also what was up the homoerotic, more than, vibes?

The movie felt less about Freddy and more about a boy trying to suppress his homosexuality.

The scene in Jesse's bestfriend's bedroom before Freddy burst out of his body and attacks his friend could have easily been about his surpressed sexuality bursting out of him and causing him to jump his bestfriend's bones or atleast try to.

There are many instances of this in the movie but I'd have to write them down as I watch it in order to post them.

It's actually my favorite of the sequels.

It was a decent movie but yeah Jesse was a nancy boy lol . The subtext isdefinately there but the film can still be enjoyed wither way.

In terms of 80's nostalgia this would be one of the last filsm I mentioned though..

I think Nancy was more manly then Jesse in this one. Especially with that girlie shrill of his.

Not to mention this infamous dance.

The little time Freddy was seen (less then 20 mins) he looked scary and the make-up was good. Other then that, not really much else.

Okay here are a few.

1. Jesse sleep walking to a S&M club finding his male gym teacher there and the teacher making him go run laps at the gym? (how is that even possible? Teachers have no power outside of school.

2. The Gym teacher being naked for some reason and then tied up and whipped with a towel.

3. Alot of the dialogue the Jesse character says. For example, when talking about the temperature, he says "It's out as an oven on here" who says that?

4. Him dancing while cleaning his room to some girlie pop song and humping some little thing up and down in the air and butt bumping the dresser drawers closed.

5. And of course there is the part mention about him sneaking into his friends room and basically revealing himself so to speak.

NOES 2 was 87 mins and Freddy only appeared in 13 of those minutes.

I knew that Freddy wasn't in the movie that much but I didn't time it.

Good list BTW.

I can't say that Freddy's Revenge wasn't an erm "interesting" movie.

I heard the glove was stolen and they didn't have time to make a new glove, so that explained his lack of appearance and basically making Jesse do it.

I'm sure there are alot more, but those are the ones I thought of off the top of my head.

Yeah, you could say this was atleast better then NOES 6. Freddy's Dead. Freddy was atleast scary in part 2.

That's a good list but also Jesse has alot of manuerisms to further drive the point ,lol.

The actor Mark Patton who plays Jesse is actually gay in real life.
