I will be the first to admit I was WRONG.
I was *mortified* at first to hear about Ledger - I found Brokeback Mountain to be an offensive piece of ****, plain and simple...and then it gets an Oscar nod?
Even now I think it's an overblown dog turd.
I saw one or two of his prior films as well - The Brother's Grimm?
- and was not too impressed...him pulling off the Joker?
Hoo-boy...looked rather...ahhh....grim, shall we say?
Honestly, I also really felt at the time he got the part because of the Oscar nod - face it, it's great publicity, not to mention some sort of political pull & tug involved as well.
After seeing the trailer and the prologue...well, OK, I apologize.
Acting and costume wise, Nolan and Ledger seem to have nailed it...we can judge decisively in July...
...just do not get me started on the make up issue, however, I'll never budge on that one.
