Comics Aaaaaaaand the person to bite it is... (Mashoosive spoiler for ASM 538)

I think when peter grabbed mj and dodged the bullet that hit Aunt May, it probably didn't kill her but I'm not going to jump to conclusions because a sniper rifle is a very powerful gun that most people don't live from. though I still think aunt may will live because most people live from a shot to that part of the body. well considering how Aunt may died in amazing spiderman #400,it wouldn't really make sense for her to die now and preety much erasing her death from back then which is yet another reason I think she will live.

# 538 wasn't a bad issue at all, in fact, it was pretty solid all around. My only gripe is the fact that Peter is the primary target for the sniper and Kingpin AND the sniper know about his spider sense. So why in the HELL do you try to do it that way if his spider sense is going to go off anyway? Meh.

Aunt May being shot was kind of a twist. I was pretty positive that MJ was going to be the one who got it. Though I don't really see Aunt May dying. I see the whole "Aunt May recovering in the hospital and Peter can't see her because he's on the run" scenario.

And I also have to say that Civil War # 7 was pretty awesome too. I really liked that sequence where Spidey took out four people at once and Reed Richards was like, "Amazing", and then Spidey kicks him in the face and goes "Spectacular". Heh.

Haha, that moment with Spidey and Reed was hands down one of the best moments for SPidey in a very long time. He had that arrogant swagger back that he's missed lately if only for a moment.

Yeeeaa... I really know what you mean.

To be honest, it's one of the reasons I don't even bother talking here much anymore. So many people have an opinion before they've even read the book

He didn't surrender like a 'beeeyyotch,' he had taken down Iron Man, and all of his Avengers were winning, and he could've sliced off Tony's head if he felt like.

But being the most moralistic character in Marvel, decided to stop the destruction, and listened to the intervention of the policemen and fire fighters trying to stop him from giving Tony more of a beat down. 'Beeyotch' my hairy little arse.

Not only that, whenever Spidey get's SO MUCH AS A SCRATCH from another character, no matter how sensible it is for the storyline, all we hear is *****, *****, *****, moan, moan, moan! In this issue we had Spidey doing all sorts of badassery, and one brilliant page of classic Ditko/Romita era giving several supers a smack down. and I have not heard ONE SINGLE PERSON mention that. :

I know. I've been offline all week, and expected to log on today and see a few people praising that scene with Peter kicking the crap out of Bishop, Doc Samson, Radioactive Man, Blizzard, and Mr. Fantastic...AT THE SAME TIME.

But nobody mentioned it. :csad:

Hell, just a few months back, i debated that Mr. Fantastic would probably beat Spider-Man in a fight. Im more than happy to publicly admit i was wrong. :yay:

Spider-Man DEFINITELY shined in Civil War #7. :spidey:

Hey Cap, I believe that I mentioned the awesome Spidey page from Civil War # 7 just a couple posts up if I'm not mistaken. But, yeah, that was an awesome part of the book, and I did enjoy the part where he was in the black costume and Luke Cage was with him and dug it.

 You did. i responded to Wolvie's post before i read yours (my bad. :woot: )...

4. SPIDER-MAN’S WORLD SHATTERED

Spider-Man unmasked publicly as Peter Parker during his time on Iron Man’s side, a mistake he would later regret as he turned against Registration and became an outlaw along with his wife, Mary Jane, and his Aunt May, who found herself on the wrong end of a sniper’s bullet and in a coma.

Quesada (upcoming artist of Spider-Man: One More Day): “[Aunt May’s shooting] makes things that much more tragic. Peter’s coming from a place where he was living in a luxury apartment and had a great job; Aunt May and MJ were happy and safe, and then all of a sudden we pulled the rug out from under him. But that is the life of Spider-Man. [The shooting] leads directly into ‘One More Day.’”

Sounds like May lives.

And I said this would happen months ago.

You know what they say....

Whenever there's an
Aunt May in a coma
, there's gonna be a
certain clone coming back to pay his respects
.

:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

I would LOVE Ben Reilly to come back during this and put Peter in his place.

Ben : PETER, how could you let this happen?! I die for 10 years, and let you be Spider-man and this is what happens?! Gimme that mask!

that would be great

I wouldn't mind Ben popping back up to put Peter back on track, because that's essentially what he did in the original Clone Saga (even if that wasn't the original intention).

I would definitely say it's still possible that May could die. What better way to kill time until both the film and "One More Day" than by keeping May alive, if only barely? I'm thinking we're going to need to wait until the end of '07, at least, until we can say for sure whether or not May is out of the woods.

And I gotta say I disagree with the people who're saying that if May were to die it would simply undo the ASM #400 retcon and therefore be pointless. Not that I'm totally okay with May biting it (although I would like to see Peter move on and live without his mother figure, which was the point of ASM #400), but it's not like she was brought back a year ago. She's been back now for - what, close to a decade? And in that time, JMS - whatever other faults he may have as a writer - has made her an interesting character without using the storytelling crutch of her as the old woman who dotes on Peter. She is an interesting, well-developed character in her own right, which she definitely wasn't - at least not to this extent - before her original death.

So quit complainin'. :o

Why did you put that all in spoilers?

Dude. Aunt May is Not going to die. She's in future issues of Spider-Man that are -after- One More Day. She's gonna live.

And Ben coming back isn't going to happen. If it does I'll bomb Marvel.

Hehehe...but we will have given Marvel so much of our hard-earned cash buying multiple copies of the Ben Returns issue that i'm sure they'll be able to afford some sort of defense. :woot:

Just read this today. In less than two minutes, I might add.

Full of wink wink nudge nudges all over the place. Liked Civil War 7 more than I thought I would, hated this issue. So pointless.

asm's thunder has been stolen from the likes of fnsm as there appears to be chracter development. altough it still isnt my cup of tea.
