That is one of those funny excuses this swanqueen fandom likes to make.
Funny in terms of the fact that the whole direction with Hook and Emma was filmed way before the season aired.

When Hook and Emma met, they already had filmed 6-7 episodes ahead.
So the whole thing with Hook and Emma was not based on the reaction of fans, it was simply already written that way.

I think the Captain Swan fandom dominates in more ways that Rumbelle and the Charmings could ever think of. If it was planned fine, but the fans are the main reason the writers aren't writing Hook off hence the underworld. Swan Queen is a crackship, always has been and will ever be. I'm not either for the record.

It does dominate...but that doesnt mean that everything happens in the show is just because the fans want it.

The creators more then once said that Hook was planned to be in the show from season 1 on and that him being in love with Emma was also planned from the start.
That means the whole CS story was actually planned before there were any fans of it.
They have written Emmas story out and follow it, that is something you dont see in most shows.

Of course due to the fans, the focus of the show shifted slightly towards more CS focus, but the whole underworld story and them trying to bring hook back, is not there just because the fans want it.

I knew about the plans but the most screen time is given to CS above all other story line or flashback. It only started to become more obvious after Neverland in S3. I actually like that they did that, they are an exciting couple to watch and the actors have great chemistry. I just wasn't born yesterday to ignore how much the writers devote to CS since recently. SQ doesn't apply really, that is solely fan created. The show isn't going there.

Question: There is a rumor going around Twitter that Sean Maguire (aka Robin Hood) has quit Once Upon a Time. Is it true? —Linda
Ausiello: That’s an excellent question for me to hand off to Matt Mitovich as he heads north for the show’s 100th episode party. Four out of five doctors recommend hourly visits to TVLine for a person in your predicament.

Once Upon a Time's Midseason Premiere: An Evil Birthday, a Blushing Hero and 10 More Teases

ABC’s Once Upon a Time celebrated 100 episodes on Saturday night with, among other things, a screening of the milestone hour aka Season 5’s winter premiere (airing Sunday, March 6).

TVLine was among those on hand for the VIP presentation. Knowing that spilling full-on spoilers “comes with a price,” here are some teases involving Emma, Regina, the Charmings and the other major characters arriving (or already residing) in the Underworld.

♦ The premiere kicks off with one of the series’ most powerful and emotional cold opens ever, doing justice to storylines past and present.

♦ The episode is quite Regina-centric, from both her current-day conundrum in the Underworld (Mayor Cora lays out a rather grim ground rule) to flashbacks of one of her birthdays, where a surprising someone sets out to gift-wrap for the Evil Queen the only thing she desires.

♦ A case of mistaken identity leaves one of the heroes a bit flustered.

♦ Fitting for the milestone episode, a character whom we first met in the series pilot and who has not been seen in a while resurfaces when you last expect — to great comedic effect.

♦ Under the oversight of the Blind Witch, the menu at Underworld Granny’s now offers gingerbread… and children :-O

♦ A first meeting between two characters just may leave you a bit misty.

♦ Seeing the key to Room 8 tees up a sweet moment between Henry and Emma.

♦ Freshly deceased Hook has seen better days.

♦ “Chip” puts in an appearance, sparking a flashback to a “lost” scene between Rumple and Belle.

♦ By the end of the hour, one character will experience an extreme reversal of fortune.

♦ From the first moment Underworld’s pampered overlord is revealed, it’s clear that Ally McBeal alum Greg Germann is having a helluva good time playing Hades.

The first meeting is obviously Henry and his namesake, Regina's father. The mistaken identity is probably with David and his twin brother. And for the resurfacing character, I'm not sure just who that could be. There's the obvious choice of Sheriff Graham, but they keep saying he's never available, there's background characters like the bishop who was performing the wedding of Snow and Charming in the pilot and came back in the alt reality to marry Robin and Zelena, or a random dwarf, or the return of a character like Gepetto/Pinocchio/Archie.

Graham aside, the only pilot character of any importance I can think of is the guy Emma tracked down for skipping bail the first time we saw her, and I have no idea why he would factor in here.

Oh joy, more centrics and flashbacks of the woman who got the most already.
Yeah, lets focus episode 100 on the character who needs to be cuddled constantly(even by those who she wronged the most) instead of focusing such a episode on the whole group:whatever:

The Rest sounds quite interesting.
I hope that once this season is over, they decide to go a full season for a story from then on.

I like the show very much and dont want it to end so fast, but they will probably run out of ideas when they continue to do those half season storys.
Also it gives more time to flesh out a story(the dark swans story is extremely underdeveloped imo)

Once Upon a Time Season 5B Brings Back Michael Raymond-James as Neal

The covert op is up.

TVLine can now confirm that Michael Raymond-James — who stars on NBC’s midseason drama Game of Silence — recently found time to reprise his role as Once Upon a Time fan fave Neal Cassidy.

As teased by this TVLine Blind Item, Raymond-James last month sneaked back to Vancouver to shoot a scene for the Season 5B premiere (airing Sunday, March 6 on ABC), in which Neal’s one true love Emma braves the Underworld… to save freshly deceased Hook’s life.

And when we say he “sneaked,” we mean it. I hear that because of the mutual admiration he shares with Once creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, MRJ gamely traveled with a group and incognito, especially as he deplaned in Vancouver. And rather than hole up at one of the usual hotels where guest actors passing through town are spied on the regular, he bunked with friends outside of the city.

As a final safeguard, Raymond-James’ scenes were filmed indoors on a soundstage — away from the ever-looming paparazzi known to spoil many an outdoor shoot. (Alas, despite all the secrecy, two tiny hiccups threatened to expose his return, including a castmate’s quickly deleted Instagram. Oops.)

Now, with hundreds attending this weekend’s 100th-episode screening, the cat was poised to spring out of the bag.

The nature of Neal’s reappearance is under wraps but the possibilities are many, seeing as in Once Upon a Time‘s Underworld, the dead only loiter if “you haven’t found closure yet,” Once Upon a Time Neal Returnsco-creator Eddy Kitsis recently told TVLine. Or, Raymond-James could again appear via a (new) flashback, as he most recently did in the Season 3 finale (after being killed off months prior).

When asked if Neal’s name would come up as Emma, Rumple et al traverse the Underworld, Kitsis said, “I think that it would be very disappointing for her to go down there and not have somebody talk about Neal.”

In addition to his role on NBC’s midseason drama Game of Silence (premiering April 7) — in which a rising attorney (Revolution‘s David Lyons) finds his perfect life upturned when his long-lost childhood pals (Raymond-James’ Gil included) threaten to expose a dark secret — the Once alum’s recent TV credits include History’s Sons of Liberty miniseries, as Paul Revere.

Once Upon a Time Casts Heroes Reborn Baddie as... 'Future Emma'?
By Matt Webb Mitovich

ABC’s Once Upon a Time will flash back an uncharted period in Emma Swan’s past, with the help of Heroes Reborn actress Rya Kihlstedt.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Kihlstedt will guest-star in Season 5, Episode 20 — titled “Firebird” and written by Jane Espenson — as Cleo, a bail bondsperson and no-nonsense woman who has pulled herself out of a rough early life and trusts her instincts above all else. The character is described as having “a tough exterior hides a strong nurturing side that isn’t often given a chance to come out.”

If that sounds a lot like a certain Savior when we first met her, that is because Cleo was a mentor of sorts to pre-Storybrooke Emma and thus embodies what she might have been had a storybook-toting tyke named Henry not come knocking.

“We are going to get a period in time in Emma’s life we’ve never explored before, which is before she became a bail bondsperson,” Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis told TVLine at the 100th-episode party. “And it’s about time!”

Kihlstedt’s previous TV credits also include arcs on Nashville and Dexter.

ABC’s Once Upon a Time resumes Season 5 on Sunday, March 6.

Did you get an answer from Once Upon a Time‘s Sean Maguire about the rumor that he’s leaving? —MRiku
As promised in Ask Ausiello, I did ask Maguire about this at the 100th-episode party, and he was (alas) expectedly spoiler-free on his status — though he did acknowledge that dangerous times are ahead for Robin and the other heroes. “We’re going to the Underworld, so I don’t expect much good stuff is going to happen! But as to where it’s going to lead [for Robin], I can’t say,” he hedged. “There are obstacles everywhere — a lot of bad people from the past are coming back and they are not too happy with our heroes. If Once Upon a Time was the Star Wars franchise, this would be Empire Strikes Back. It’s going to get dark, it’s going to be scary, and there will be surprises.”

Is Operation Light Swan still on when Once Upon a Time returns? –Allison
No, it appears Operation Light Swan has served its purpose, to be replaced by a new mission Henry dubs “Operation Firebird.”

Question: Do you have any Once Upon a Time spoilers? —Jackie
Ausiello: I have not just “any” spoilers, but a bit of a sneak peek at Season 6! For the final two episodes of the about-to-premiere Season 5B, the ABC series is looking to cast the recurring roles of two brothers — one who is physically imposing, brutish, morally corrupt and willing to destroy his family in the pursuit of power, and the other who is weaker and desperate to escape his older bro’s sinister shadow. Should Once get picked up for the fall, these two newcomers would spill over into next season, as well. Cain and Abel? An anthropomorphized Scar and Mufasa? Share your theories in the Comments!

One of the TV Line writers also tweeted that there had been a lot of comments theorizing that the brothers are the Brothers Grimm.

So they're doing Jacob and the Man in Black again?

Thrilled to announce that #OnceUponATime has been picked up for season 6! Thank you ABC and thank you to the most extraordinary fans ever!
I see new management at ABC isn't waiting until the 11th hour to announce their pick-ups anymore.

I guess the writers had a good idea renewal was imminent.

Efficient work the haters did when they tried to get the show cancelled by trending stoponceuponhook right? :woot:

Really glad to hear that it got renewed this early.

Bex's instagram confirmed it. So glad to hear it got renewed. Can't wait for 5B this Sunday.

Even her dad is telling her the truth, and she still won't listen.

I do hope there is more to the rest of the season. Because I am not eager for them to be playing Touched By An Angel in the Underworld.
