This is pretty exciting.

I mean, it could blow up and be awful, but it could also be the most epic X-men film ever made....

Young Professor X
Professor X
Young Magneto
Magneto
Wolverine
Shadow Cat
Iceman
Rogue
Beast

And possibly:
Jean Grey
Banshee
Havok
and Cyclops

That's an epic team to have in there.

Holy hell! Ellen Page is coming back? Along with Ashmore and Paquin?!

That's it. I'm back into the X-Men fold big ****ing time. Wow. I just didn't think these three would make it into this film.

Well, I guess Last Stand IS apart of the continuity after all.

If they're counting X-Men: The Last Stand, which it appears that they are... No reason not to bring back Kelsey's Beast.

Just PLEASE hint at or tease Cyclops in this film and then give him a starring, a TRUE starring, role in the next film.

Don't worry Famke Janssen and James Marsden will be back .. and Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn.

I've never been much of an X-Men or Cyclops fan, but I do hope he returns too because that was just a crappy end for him in Last Stand.

lol @ "thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!" :funny:
I loved that.

Well the fact that Singer mentioned that these are the ones that are still alive doesn't bode well for the ones that were assumed to be dead in X3.

I was just going to mention this, but what about Xavier? He died too, or at least his body did.

part of me is disappointed that it seems to be a direct sequel to X3 which wasnt a great film, i just hope as much care is taken for the first class characters

What I want to know is whether these will all share any screentime together, or are they all going to be segregated into different time periods? If so, it makes it almost like the comic book version of that romcom "Valentine's Day" where you get all these separate stories with relatively big names going on and not all of them even interact whatsoever.

Don't they have to show that some of these X-Men have been killed? They can't be bringing back all of them.

Singer should just completely ignore that Cyclops was killed off. X3 is fading from people's memory, and these movies are loose sequels/prequels anyway. I can pretty much guarantee you that nobody would give a crap.

he won't forget x3, he thanked ratner on twitter, shows he has respect for him and the film sadly

Cyclops can still play. It doesn't matter whether he died. He can just appear or be plucked from a different time period. Same with Jean. They could be seen prior to either of them dying. After all, we are getting a Magneto, Xavier and Mystique from the 60s.

well we have wolverine, rogue, iceman, kitty and Prof X of the original team and there has to be a limited amount left sadly because if its going to be dealing with 2 time periods they can't have every character from the original trilogy sadly for 1 time period

Definitely his most intriguing statement thus far.

But don't take it so literally -- it's likely that he's attempting to throw fans 'off the scent' a bit.

Any quality director would like to work with a more mature Ellen Page these days. In terms of her character, keep in mind that this is Singer's dystopian/alternate future we're talking about here, not necessarily any direct continuity to Ratner's debacle... It will be played loosely enough that audiences can interpret it either way.

Singer's use of Stewart adds credibility to this assertion -- because I know he ain't goin' for the "my mind was saved in my secret twin brother's body" theory!

The problem with Cyclops Is he was killed. They had a back door to bring Xavier back.

Of course certain events may not be In cannon at end of film after the time travel.

You can't have teenage Cyclops In 1960's.That can't happen till at least mid 1970's.
And then we have the Origins problem. Are they just distancing themselves from origins
or are they outright Ignoring It.That remains to be seen.

Well I have thought they wouldn't directly tied to events of Last Stand.Like they wouldn't mention cure or how Xavier Is alive.

They probally want fans to view future scenes as X4.Of course who knows what will be cannon at end of film with regards to last Stand and Time travel.
