This one, so far, is no different than First Class or X2...Well this one would theoretically double it.

So far. I doubt this it as far as characters though. I'm presuming they'll introduce a couple new ones and announce a few more previous ones. This one, so far, is no different than First Class or X2...
I can give you that. Though I did think First Class did a good job at making at least 90% of the characters in that film true to their comic selves. But I don't think anything done is irreversible. Look at Black Widow in the MCU. In IM2 you have Scarlett playing a hot redhead who's job is to look pretty, show off her body, and provide minor plot exposition when called for. Cut to the Avengers where she's suddenly playing Black Widow! It's so drastic, and when you watch the two films back to back it's hard to imagine it's the same actress in both roles. But it was necessary.![]()
I'd say that's a legitimate concern, yeah.
It's Singer and Vaughn though. At least Zak Penn and Brett Ratner aren't at the helm.
Haha, I'm not even referring to the under cover aspect. Even after she was "revealed" she was still **** McGee.If only storm and Iceman were undercover agents :'(
(to explain there out of characterness )

I didn't forget.... I just didn't want to mention it.You forgot to mention Simon Kinberg. Who was also a screenwriter of X3.

Thankfully Whedon fixed that. He gave her a personality, a back story, character traits, and a motive!![]()

xmen first and foremost has always been an ensemble cast it is always gonna have alot of characters
I think First Class did a fantastic job with the characters by not introducing too many, though it did have some issues (killing off Darwin unnecessarily for example). I see it this way. We are going to have too many characters introduced and it will feel cluttered OR We will have a TON of characters who get little to no development and have a very minor role in the overall plot. They are there just for the sake of being there. Not saying this is definitely what is happening, but its a possibility. Not trashing the series, its just a major concern for me.
I also feel like Fox has not made it clear whether or not First Class is a prequel, or a reboot. They use the SAME opening shot as the 2000 film, yet there are so many continuity errors. So I guess you can call it a reboot. BUT... they keep trying to connect it with the original films (such as bringing back the same actors and such). I hope that DOFP really fixes some of these issues, and helps Fox find the direction they want to take the franchise in. I think they've wasted an opportunity to make an expansive X-Men cinematic universe, when all they had to do was make First Class strictly a prequel, and somehow tie-in the upcoming Wolverine film, rather than make it a standalone movie.
And yet in my Avengers poster, she still is the one who has her behind poking outLol even then there were alot of feminists pissed at her in the avenger... Especially that gratuitous ass pose she had in the poster with the guys. (everyone was posed in battle facing forward besides her, who was in an awkward pose showcasing her butt... Lol whedon handled her better than that thankfully

Does anyone think that DOFP is going to have too many characters?
Agreed.
I guess it's opinion.only guy who didn't get to shine was cyclops imo everyone else had their moments
So there's uh.... Almost a 10 year gap between x1 and x2??? Nsyncs "bye bye bye" wasn't made in the 90s.....
Lol years are more than just slapping a number on them. Theres plenty of pop culture, technology, and fashion qualities that set a mood for a decade. There's no way in hell the xmen trilogy is in the 90s...
^ Since Singer directly referenced the fact that Brett Ratner left Kitty, Iceman, and Rogue alive at the end of TLS, I highly doubt that he'll resurrect either Cyclops or Jean, particularly since we already know that The Wolverine is set after the events of TLS and features Wolverine brooding about Jean's death (hence Famke's cameo).
