Actors Who Inexplicably Disappeared

I was watching the Poseidon remake the other day.

What the heck happened to Josh Lucas? Seemed like he was the go-to Rom-Com / Action star in the late 90's early 00's. Poseidon, Sweet Home Alabama, Stealth, Glory Road...nevermind, I answered my own question.

Lucas always just seemed like a poor man’s McConaughey to me. He’s not bad but not particularly great either.

Lol, I hardly think anyone’s career fell apart because they turned down Aaron Taylor Johnson’s nothing role in Godzilla.
Well he could have built a relationship with WB - Inception, TDKR then Godzilla but after that wasnt linked with many big movies. Remember some early Ant-Man and Dr. Strange rumours but who knows.

Well, given that he was already in two big WB movies that you mentioned, I think he had a good relationship with them. Also, didn’t WB want to put Cavill in that role but the director wanted ATJ?

A lot of actresses make 1, 2 or 3 big movies and then totally dissapear. Berenice Marlohe, Moon Bloodgood, Gemma Arterton, Lynn Collins, Bridget Moynahan, Freida Pinto etc. Guess Katherine Heigl and Kate Beckinsake are too old now.

Lynn Collins was in the Unabomber mini series with Paul Bethany and the charisma vaccum guy from Avatar. Gemma Arterton was in a period mini series about movie writers during WW2.

I feel like the last movie we saw Elijah Wood in was Sin City.

But I remember last year (or two years ago?) he spoke out about the pedophilia in Hollywood and then retracted what he said.

Wood was in the Dirk Gently mini series done by Max Landis, based on the Douglas Adams books.

Yeah, that has happened a lot lately and it makes sense as many TV shows feel more like long movies these days.

Many TV miniseries feel like movies that did not want to be edited down into feature length. Many documentary minis, too.

It was a series. Had two seasons, then got canceled. Cool show, IMO

Ah, sorry. I remembered as pretty short, but may be mistaken. Wood was the best part of it, I think. I don't think I saw the second season.

Joseph Gordon Levitt recently hosted the Sesame Street 50th Anniversary Special.

He always seems to find his way into various little gigs like that to keep himself from totally fading away, like hosting the Muppets Christmas Special, or being on Bear Grylls, or hosting the Bruce Willis comedy roast.

Where art thou?

If it wasn't for Mom, I would have said Kristen Johnston. Jesse Metcalf was hot and I liked him on the Dallas sequel series. I wonder what happened to him?

Seems like her career took a dive after a DUI where she hit 3 parked cars and fled the scene, and then managed to slip her cuffs after the arrest. You have to admire her determination to get away, lol.

All in all, what she did seems minor compared to what some other celebs have gotten away with but I’ll be honest, it’s not like Estella was much of an actress.

JGL's career fallen apart after he turned down Godzilla '14.

Will be interesting what happens with Gosling's career in next few years. When you look at his last six studio movies four of them bombed and he's 40 next year.
Please tell me he didn't give up the role that went to Aaron Taylor-Johnson? JGL would have made me care about the character more and made the film better.

He did. And I agree, JGL would have innately brought more charisma and personality to that part than ATJ, IMO (too many acronyms!!!).

But it's also kind of a nothing part, so it's not that surprising if he wasn't interested.

Yeah I totally understand why he turned it down. But it would have helped with those criticisms about how the film loses some people with Cranston's death.

Yup. ATJ is a total personality void in that movie. JGL could have helped keep it afloat and probably even played better off of Cranston in their scenes together.

I caught up on her career just recently via Watchitfortheplot reddit page. Kinda sad to see one of the not so famous Baldwin brother just motorboat her in a straight to digital more cheap lifetime type flick. She is still hot tho.

Yeah, I like ATJ but I think he struggles in roles where he plays stoic hero types. For example, JGL’s character in TDKR wasn’t much deeper or edgier than ATJ’s in Godzilla, but he was 100% more memorable and likable. ATJ is better in quirkier roles.

Oh no doubt. Seeing her in a skimpy outfit is pretty much the ONLY reason to ever watch Wahlberg of the Apes.
