Here's my list of actors (past or present) who should/should've played heroes:

Professor X: YUL BRYNNER
Captain America: CHRISTOPHER REEVE (sans shoe polish of course, lol)
Thor: DOLPH LUNDGREN (for once, somebody got the casting choice RIGHT!!!)
Nick Fury: CHARLTON HESTON
Black Panther: DJIMON HOUNSOU
Iron Man: TOM SELLECK or CLARK GABLE (both great choices!)
Scarlet Witch: ADRIENNE BARBEAU
Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat: DENISE RICHARDS
Dr. Strange: JOHNNY DEPP
Silver Surfer: JAMES CAVIEZEL
Daredevil: ROBERT REDFORD (I almost think the character itself could be based off him...)
Bruce Banner/Hulk: GREGORY PECK

Michael Beihn for Cyclops in the 1980s'.

Dude I am so there with you on this one. Biehn would have also made a good Captain America I think.

Funny you should mention James Caviezel for Cyclops - JC actually was the original choice, but he had to pull out over scheduling conflicts with "Frequency". Maybe that influenced Bryan Singer's refusal to cast him in as the lead in "Superman Returns", resentment for JC not doing X-Men.

I have in the past, but it's been quiet some time since High School. However I am 6'1" and extremely athletic (play rugby in college and train 5 to 6 times a week in cross training/weights/etc. I am also a HUGE fan of Cyclops, he is more or less my favorite character, I model myself after him.

Frankly if I could play anyone "available", I'd love to bring Hal Jordan justice.

Peck's look was the basis of Batman's inital look in the very first comics back from the 1930s'. He embodies Bruce Wayne more than any actor who has actually played the character.

I personally maintain Brando was perfect for Jor-El.
