Omg JP you've got to give me a link to the thread in which your quote originated. I haven't laughed that long in days![]()

For some reason I thought that it hinted at the Moleman at the end.To make the trilogy complete and consistent, I would like Tim to stay. I don't think he's the best director for the franchise, but he seems to be improving with each film. If they decide to do 4 movies, maybe get a new creative team. FF2 really was a self contained story, and didn't hint at a sequel (besides a SS film)
You know, I voted no, but having seen it now, I'd like to say that the improvement between 1 and 2 indicates that, if that improvement were to continue at that rate, and the obvious willingness to listen to fans about what has sucked in previous films were to continue, a third film would probably be at least up to par for the F4 or quite possibly a huge acheivement of excellence.
I'd like to say that, but the problem is that I don't know how much power he has.
If there are glaring problems with the plot or script, someone like George Lucas, Steven Spielberg or Sam Raimi will CALL for the changes.
If Story SAW all the plainly lame problems with the story.....the preposterous PrePOSTEROUS resolution of the threat of Gailactus (uh...just have SS (who GOT his power FROM Gailactus, fly up to him, crouch into a little ball and....make him disappear?!?!?!?!?!?), the prePOSTEROUS catalyst for the change in SS (he, uh...just never stopped to think that there are BILLIONS of people in love on the planet? So, he gets tortured, meets a nice lady, and decides to throw his whole life away and save the world?!?!?!?), the freaking CRIMINAL underuse of the Thing....and the COMPLETELY tacked on, substanceless CAMEO by the insanely miscast Dr. Von Wuss.....and if he saw all of those MISERABLE takes, where the acting would fly spastically from REALLY good, to okay, to highschool PLAY or WORSE and then back to excellent...destroying all sense of continuity and eroding his credibility as someone who knows a good take when he sees one..........
Well, I guess I'll have to stay with my No vote actually.
AND, OOooh, he's REALLY, REALLY improved, and learned SO much!
Um, what are WE, his Momma?!
These movies aren't supposed to be some early term, mid-term and finals at film school for Tim Story, to track his progess from novice, to intermediate, to advanced!
I'm glad he's LEARNING his craft.
But a franchise as huge as F4 shouldn't be some charity case...."Aw, let's give the kid a Shot.. I gotta hunch it'll be a great stepping stone so he can move on to really great acheivements someday!
"
No.
A F4 trilogy shouldn't be:
1. Utter Crap
2. Way, WAy less fetid crap with a handful of vindications marred by colossal missteps
3. Really Really good.
It should be:
1. Amazing
2. Freaking Amazing
3. OMG, I fainted in the theater because my brain couldn't handle how amazing it was. Let's go buy tickets for the next show.

Just saw the movie.
Story stepped up his game big time.
FF2 isn't just slightly better than FF1, it's a far superior film. Anybody who denies this is just hating because he has a bad reputation. FF1 is one of the worst Marvel movies. FF2 is one of the best Marvel movies. Tim Story delivered. Give the man some credit.
I liked Ioan, Chris and Mike. I hate Alba beyond words. I really really hate Julian. Doug was amazing. Clearly, the biggest problem is story ... and that cannot be blamed on Tim. Fox wants a movie aimed at kids and ok's the script. I think the movie looked fine. I think the dialogue was poor at times. I think everything Doom did and said was horrible. I think Alba is so unbelievable in her role it takes me completely out of the film. Same with Julian.
