Yeah some things in TWS that Cap did made me think....wait a minute, he can do that?? IM was watered down in IM3. Thor hasn't yet reached his potential. I don't exactly know why some characters' strength feats are exaggerated while others are minimised.

How so?

^ That is a good point. I didn't really mind the suits breaking when he fought the extremis soldiers, it's mark 42 breaking apart after being hit by a van that bothers me.

Funny enough though, I walked out of IM3 thinking Stark was the greatest Avenger ever. The film did a lot to answer that question that Cap asks of him, what is he without the suit?

It made sense considering they were all rush jobs.

He basically prints them out with a 3D printer. They never took much time to assemble even in the first movie. IM was just made out to be a weak fool in IM3.

A genius in his previous movies who acts like an idiot and dares a terrorist to bomb his home without coming up with proper defenses. Kevin from Home Alone was more thoughtful and inventive.

I looked at Mark 42 as another version of the suitcase armor. More or less a quick light armor for emergencies

Just that his suits of armour didn't withstand as much damage as they did in the previous movies.

I'm pretty sure it was obvious Tony wasn't in his normal state of mind, given his PTSD and all.

He had the proper defenses. He had an army of suits he could summon on command. He just didn't... until the end of the movie... for some reason...

Did his paranoia and anger get the best of him during that film? Sure, but i think you are intentionally missing the point of the film, or rather letting your dislike of the film cloud what it was trying to tell you.

The whole point is that he starts out the film as an empty paranoid man who fills his time and solves his inferiority complex and all the psychosis brought about by the new york events into creating plenty of weaksauce, pointless suits, once taken away from them he re-discovers what truly makes him a hero, his mind. The ending is pretty symbolic with the clean slate protocol and removing the shrapnel from his heart, with stark basically proclaiming that even without the suits or the big arc reactor in his chest he is Iron Man.

Film came out 2 years ago, if you really can't figure it out by now, my guess is that you don't want to, and considering that it's confirmed that Stark created Ultron, it only reaffirms my belief that the Ultron program is the next step in Stark's character arc post IM3.

The guy was pretty unhinged at the start of the movie, this isn't comic book Batman we're talking about, with infinite levels of prep time. This is the MCU Tony Stark, who has always been fairly reckless, but the start of IM3 he is clearly at his lowest point, especially when you consider he challenged mandarin straight after visiting his dear friend Happy in the hospital.

Not the best example, I found his plans ludicrous. :funny:
Which is fine given the type of movie it was.

Being at his lowest point makes him unable to use a vocal command to activate his army of armor?

You might wanna read what Phantasm, Bucky and shark boy said. But something tells me even if you do you still won't get it because it seems your dislike or hate for the film is too much for you to try and logically understand it. All I can then to that is oh well have fun with that haha.'

This is almost like the BvS forums where the hate and complaining about MOS always shows up and goes on and on in circles endlessly. Same thing in the marvel forums with IM3.

I don't hate IM3, to be honest. I like it much better than the other two IM movies. But it does have some plot holes.

Doesn't Stark seem like the kinda guy who is deluded enough to think he could take on three choppers with his new suit? I would hope so, the guy defended us from an alien army with one suit. It's really not that big a leap.

I love IM3 but I don't wanna turn this into IM3 debate. There's still an Iron Man forum for that haha.

So he's both paranoid and overconfident at the same time?

What?

lol at the people who complain about deaths not being necessary and think we need 20 Avengers on screen in the next movie.

I'm not a fan of IM3 but the suits were under rubble until the debris was cleared.

Pretty much, or maybe he was trying to prove something to himself. Like i said...is it really that big of a leap for you?
