Regarding Thor not being a god...

This had to be done. Religious people might have a bias against the Thor cinematic character if he was officially a god, which would imply that Jesus, Allah, etc are NOT god. It is a detail that you really don't need to get people thinking about, so they worked around it.

I hope the show will include a nice number of C or even D level heroes, and not do a reverse DC here. Like we have Arrow, but the big guns like Batman or Superman can't be mentioned. Now with Agents of SHIELD, we know Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Ironman are around, but it would suck if we never get other comic heroes introduced, and instead every new character is someone originally created for the show.

Meh, maybe it would have initially, but eventually they'll get around to showing that every religious mythology co-exists equally in the Marvel Universe.

The villain Graviton (or at least Dr. Franklin Hall, the man who becomes Graviton) will be in episode three.

If this was an actual concern there would be no tv shows and movies about mythology.

One thing I forgot to comment on. Coulson's flying car. That was pretty dumb. I know that, set in a world with aliens, superpowered robosuits and magic hammers, it's not really that far-fetched. But I still found that a tad too silly. This isn't Back to the Future II.
Just so you and the younger fans know, Nick Fury's flying sports car has been around longer than I think even James Bond's Aston Martin (I might be wrong on that date they were out about the same time)
I don't think it's at all silly, personally. The movies have set up a realistic view, and certain flying vehicles aren't that far off.

A villain. Arrow didn't have issues with using Batman villains. It's the big heroes themselves that were often a taboo to use or even mention in these shows.

Plus, the flying car was already in the Captain America Movie. It was Howard Stark's presentation at the STARK Expo. That was over 60 years ago. And now it works.

Very mediocre pilot, acting, cheesy dialogue, most of the characters were lame... Heroes, Smallville, Arrow (among others), had better pilots IMO. Yes, it will get better, but not good enough to be a really great show like Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica... the tone is just too family friendly and dumbed-down, pity.

James Bonds Aston Martin appeared in 1964
Shield was created in 1965... Not sure the car appeared in the first appearances.

I don't get "dumbed down" from this show at all. JAR's monologue at the end wasn't very dumbed down I don't think. A show can be fun and smart at the same time, I think this one is.

I liked it. Don't like the male muscle of the group. Hope they plan to drop one of the techies. Either one will do.

I haven't read any spoilers but going by what Hill said about "never telling him (Coulson)." I'm guessing...

this isn't the real Coulson. The real one died in the movie. A clone?

After watching the show, what I most wanted to know is who is responsible for creating the centipede. Was it Killian before or perhaps even after Iron Man 3, and the distribution is part of AIM's handy work? or is there another Villian involved that has taken different pieces from various superhero battles and managed to combine them?

Also, I like that they are keeping us guessing about the whole Coulson death thing, as it keeps people interested to find out what really happened. I get the feeling that this phase of Marvel movies & shows is going to be the phase of the twist, where in each movie or show they are going to do something unexpected to catch their audience off guard. The show is looking very good so far, and I am excited to see where it goes.

I think we'll see some heroes from the comics, especially if the show starts landing some well known actors in recurring roles.

It is smart and fun at the same time. It's tone is very reminiscent of AVENGERS. People who hated AVENGERS will probably hate this, those who loved AVENGERS will similarly love this. Seeing as how 99.9% loved Avengers. We're looking at this number of viewers either staying or possibly even rising.

Some of the people who hate the Avengers will probably watch NCIS.

Am I the only that really kind of hopes that Coulson is NOT an LMD/android/robot/whatever? I don't know... I just want Coulson to be Coulson. I'd rather it be some type of magic having brought him back (haven't there been rumors of Dr. Strange being introduced into the MCU?) or heck, maybe SHIELD was tinkering with the Chitauri tech and discovered something (that could explain them not wanting him to know, right? Who would want to know that they were brought back to life via tech recovered from the aliens that had tried to conquer the world). Or something about Loki's spear and the gem on it left residual magic or something.

The LMD route I just... I dunno, the idea of it doesn't sit well with me  (but of course, they will do what they do and there's nothing I can do about it *sigh*)

There have been rumors of Dr. Strange being a part of Phase 3.

You lose some, you gain some. Their loss. But the gain? "Dudes, this show is A LOT like Avengers." The more people that hear that - ratings are surely going to rise. And a show with the highest opening in four years -- rising?... People complaining about jokes, the campiness, hell - people are even complaining about a flying car (really?). THAT is what MADE Avengers. Out of all of these serious films, FINALLY comes a film that doesn't take itself all that seriously. That is what set it apart from the crowd and that is what similarly sets this apart.

How many of those movies are as universally embraced as the Marvel Universe?

Like it or not...there are certain big questions or controversies that Marvel simply is not and should not be poking around in. They want EVERYONE to love their movies, and it makes no sense to tell Christians (the plurality in America) that Jesus is either not god or is one of many gods.

Again...it is a small detail...but there's no reason to even bring it up. Thor is still Thor.

You could still have Thor as A god, while THE GOD is still an omnipotent being, that doesn't move a finger.

I thought that was ok except for the Grandma part, with him saying "Gramsy?" and looking all sad.

Yeah I mentioned before the humor was just a hair overblown for my taste and that very gag was what put it over the top.

No you are not, I feel the same way. I'm counting on Whedon & Co. to display comething more clever than "he's an android"

Leaving this here for everyone that has still issues with the flying car.
