Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - Episode 2.20 - "Scars"

That would have been a good reason to flee. If Shield did know how to use the weapon her actions would have made that much more likely.

She thinks they hold the upper hand with their powers and the element of surprise. Remember Cal is in the Quinjet. They have a plan concocted to get rid of the threat once and for all and not have to keep running.

Ever heard of ICBMs? That would be good reason to flee if SHIELD was as bad as she thought they were.

Does SHIELD have ICBMs? Where exactly is this place at anyway? I would think firing ICBMs across a sovereign country's airspace would be a bad thing. Actually it's not that big of a place that it would take a nuke to destroy it.

Why should they have to run and hide because the schoolyard bully with his list turns up ?

Turning up with the always implied threat of violence that they use to force people to go on the Index kicked this off .

lol thinking Ward changed

yeah they just used SHIELD to get her deprogrammed. She's still loyal to Ward.

True, but didn't you notice the dialogue between Bobbi and Kara? Apparently Bobbi did indeed handle her to Whitehall to get in his good graces, and Ward has been all about helping her bring his "eye for an eye" justice to those who wronged her.

Speculation: the final piece of the puzzle will be that Coulson ok'd Bobbi's actions, and now Ward and Kara are going to corner him to get him to answer for his crimes. The twist: Coulson will reveal that Kara offered herself as sacrificial bait. Coulson might even surprise us that he's not as anti-Ward as the rest of the original team and just played that aspect as an "incentive" to get him to do what he wanted. After "Scars" there's little in this show that I can't see happening anymore.

People are talking about Skye's mom quick change.... I think she's been bad from the beginning, and we are just finding out.

Why is she bad ?

Because she won't let SHIELD experiment on the Inhumans .A whole race is different from the odd flotsam of enhanced person they were using this crap on .

People also seem to forget that she admitted hunting down and killing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents together with Cal following Daisy's placement in the orphanage.

Gonzales's decisions are based on fear/xenophobia. That immediately compromises his effectiveness as a decision-maker. Heck he couldn't even tell the whole truth about the Ultron thing.
Agreed. When he started explaining the Ultron thing me and my sister looked at each other at all the stuff he was getting wrong about it (because, obviously, he wasn't there when it happened and - per usual - is making his own assumptions that feed/make him feel like he's justified in what he's saying).
Most likely he wont be exposed to it.

But I was thinking of this yesterday. What if, the GH323/5(?) somehow made it into Coulson's bone marrow, to his germ cells. Slowly, but surely it could be rewriting his DNA to give him slight inhuman characteristics, or at least the ability to survive exposure to the mist.

I wouldn't mind if Coulson had powers like slightly enhanced durability, NOT invulnerability, and mild precognition say 10-20 seconds precognition ( which would be helpful in a fight)
Simmons was running all kinds of tests on his blood last season trying to find *any* traces of the GH325. Something rewriting his DNA I would think she would notice. I think it's out of his system - and with the hypergraphia issue gone - I think he's normal and human and that's the way it should stay. The thing that I've always liked about Coulson is that he's the every-man. He's the completely normal guy dealing with this now weird world. Making him any type of enhanced (even the things you listed) kind of (IMO) diminishes what I like so much about him. Just my take.

Onto the episode, loved it. Didn't care for Coulson agreeing to have a 'council' for oversight - at least - not that council as it stands. It's too far lopsided in the *other* direction from Coulson (with their Xenophobia) - May's the only one not at that level, but even she has become disenfranchised with some of Coulson's methods. There needs to be more balance on an oversight council and (IMO) that one just doesn't have it.

With Jiaying, I started to wonder if she might find a way to kill Gonzales (or if Gonzales was going to pull some stupid stunt and force her too). I definitely don't agree with what she did - she was definitely wrong to handle it that way and start an all out war (though I can understand her why of not wanting her people to be categorized and monitored (cause lets face, history has shown that tends to go very badly)). But I can't say I'm mourning over the loss of Gonzales. His ideals have been pissing me off since he was introduced, so I'm not really that sad to see him go.

Fury just borrowed the Helicarrier from Coulson. Coulson is the boss, not Fury.

There are no two realms here, it's all the same realm. Fury's "S.H.I.E.L.D." in Age of Ultron was just a temporarily assembled team of former agents.

And even then, they've all joined the Avengers by the end of the film.

Yes, perhaps HFK meant in the narrative of the current time frame.
It bugs me how the MCU appears to be ignoring AOS. Fury should be on that committee.
So, Coulson has been financing the Helicarrier with money from those shadow companies that May mentioned a few eps ago?
I'm still not clear on those bunks though.
May said, what, a hundred or hundreds?
An aircraft carrier holds thousands.
It must be something still to be revealed, or I'm just missing something.
I think it's mostly Joss that was ignoring Phil. Maybe we'll see more of an AoS presence in Civil War, since a lot of the registration is taking place on AoS.

Yeah, I'm going to listen and Watch carefully to the show later this morning for more details

And the fact that she deliberately shot herself to make it appear that SHIELD tried to kill her to incite a war.

Wouldn't mind if the GH325 somehow made Coulson immune to be killed by Diviner technology, but that's about it. I agree as well with not making Coulson enhanced.

I'll bet by sometime in CW Bucky will be apart of Secret Avengers, and Widow will be able to help Steve with Bucky since they've both been through the Red Room

I think it might. Tho it also could be Phil has the same type of gene that Skye and Raina that make them immune too

Oh, I don't know.....maybe the whole instead of talking peace she commits murder and starts a war.....

Talking peace to an organization that has just turned up on their front lawn armed to the teeth ,expecting to start the anal probes ? SOP is if they say no to the Index they get put down as has been stated in the show .Blessed are the vivisectionists and peacemakers of SHIELD

I she had told them to just go screw themselves I'm guessing Hot Seat Phil,El Jefe and the 4 Stooges would have just packed up and gone home ?

Sort of, she killed Robert Gonzalez with a terrigin crystal

Once again Daisy was abducted by SHIELD and hidden from them .Because SHIELD said so .

I think it might. Tho it also could be Phil has the same type of gene that Skye and Raina that make them immune too

But if he does have the gene then he'd be able to undergo Terrigenesis and become Inhuman. The point is that if Jiaying tries to do the same she did with Gonzales with Coulson he won't turn to dust but at the same time wouldn't become Inhuman.

Who had tried to have her daughter killed a few weeks ago .That paragon of virtue and peace the man was ( when he wasn't channeling his inner Fascist and talking about things)

Hot Seat Phil sold his principles out so SHIELD can all sit round and sing Kumbaya together and he got to keep his job.

Just like Cap would do - not.

And May is either so butt hurt about Phil and Andrews play dates that she has lost all her marbles or has been drinking the coolaid.

She actually turned round to Skye and tried to excuse the murder attempt on her because Robert was nice to cats I guess

Yeah but he was never exposed to the Crystals or even the Obelisks, so we don't know for sure

Yeah I can see your point lol She IS planning a war or battling Shield. Basically she has dropped her "ACT" if you will and showed her true face
