Frankly,I'd rather they didn't add Tripplett to the team. It's a fairly close knit group, who (given recent circumstances) doesn't even trust each other implicitly anymore. It makes little sense to me that they just welcome him in on little more to go on than Simmons spending a few hours with him in a lab.
I hope Ward isn't simply a storyline like Angel as Angelus in Buffy where he was evil and the villain for a while, but eventually restored. I prefer for Ward to simply remain as a villain.
Angel lost his soul. You just had to put it back. Aint the same thing. And even then forgiveness didnt come that easy, nor that quickly nor cheap.
But i still think redeeming him makes for better, and more challenging tv than getting rid of him. Dont get me wrong. Dont make him a goodie goodie again. But making him a complicated human being with complicated motivations that would have some rediming qualities? Somebody more ambiguous that could somehow earn if not forgiveness, a second chance, even if it takes another season? Hell, yeah. Beats "Skye and Coulson killed a bad badie very bad man traitor" any day of the week in my book.
Whedons bad people turned not good but to the good side kinda are some of the most interesting characters ever.
I never said to get rid of him though. I prefer him just to remain a villain and stick around to cause trouble and be a constant thorn in their side.
I really hope they didn't go the "Ward beats the lie detector by lying" route.
....not before Mikelok doesHe's gonna wait until last, then shoot everyone in the room.
Fresh cast next year!
He's a fantastic liar, given how effortlessly he played the entire team. I can see him beating a lie detector test. BTW, the fact that they didn't definitely answer whether or not Black Widow beat the test, makes me think that she probably did.
IS he just bad though? Or might he be brainwashed? If he is, and he's beyond redemption.. where does that put Hawkeye?
I never said to get rid of him though. I prefer him just to remain a villain and stick around to cause trouble and be a constant thorn in their side.
I agree with u! Reforming him and making him see the error of his ways would seem like a total cop out- never-mind all the people he's already murdered. If ur going to 'turn' him good then there needs to be accountability for the blood on his hands.
Nick Fury is an eye witness of Hawkeyes brainwashing.
Speaking of Fury, its still possible that the whole Ward is evil thing is a long-con ruse to infiltrate Hydra. Of course that would mean that all the murders were staged somehow. Which i agree is kinda lame. okay, maybe not...
