Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD TV series for ABC - General Discussion - LEVEL 11 - Part 10

If there is another season I am thinking that Cloak and Dagger will show how they plan to go into the near future. I may be a Heretic but I would prefer seeing 20 hours of stories in the post season finale world than just a few minutes out of the 3 hours of the Avengers response

I just realized that season 1 had a fake clairvoyant, and...now they have a real one.

Actually in a lovely bit of writing we had a true clairvoyant in season 2 who had been a true believer of the fake clairvoyant in season 1.

Some of the writing on this show is actually top notch. Not Mack this season. That guy blows chunks of Captain Crunch -- hurry up and time loop kill him already!

@NatalieAbrams

#AgentsofSHIELD still in contention FYI
@Snoodit

#AgentsOfSHIELD is still in contention. Decision expected in the coming days.
That we have not heard already could mean that Disney is again putting pressure on ABC to keep the show going. If that is the case they might be having discussions about who is going to cover any losses the show makes, ABC might want Disney to help pay for the show. If it survives I could see it ending up with a 13 episode season next year.

TBH the next 12 months are the trickiest for the show, the events of IW will cast a long shadow. Do they have the next season set between the events of Avengers 3 and 4 or maybe do something like having the whole season cover the events of the day right before IW. IF the show gets through the next 12 months things might go smoother for it storywise.

The big thing is that with Disney planning to start their streaming service next year AOS probably has a good chance of being moved across to the service. ABC will be happy to be free of it and it will give the new service a show with an inbuilt audience. It just needs to stay alive until then.

I won't deny it could prove to be tricky. However, as of Ep 20, we know that certain events of IW are currently taking place, and the team are aware of it.
We also have reliable evidence that Avengers 4 will take place a few years after Infinity War. As long as A4 doesn't revert reality and time back to the day of, or the days shortly after IW, AoS has free time in the MCU time line to have a show.

Even if the Avengers solution is to reset time like the Agents are trying to break the Lighthouse loop I wouldn't mind Year Of Hell season pending the Avengers solution for the MCU. In fact I want some show to explore the post Infinity War world

If there is a season six, how many episodes into the 6th season before they go with the "Coulson and Company are wanted by the authorities" for the 6th season in a row?

I would think that Secretary Ross and the like will be out of favor and we have a pre Hydra emergence situation of an international S.H.I.E.L.D. Less powerful but still a technological advantage over the CIA, USAF and the GSG9 among others who assumed role on TV and the movies

Rumer is Hulu wants the show.

Interesting, and if/once the Fox deal goes through Disney will own 60% of Hulu. The big problem I always have with Hulu is that its a streaming service that has shown practically no interest in expanding outside of the US.

Anyone want them to hold off announcing their decision on the show until after the finale?

we should know before the upfronts tomorrow... so the next 24 hours or so

I really like how they've given Mack more to do in recent seasons. Beyond that of just the muscle

I really wish they have Deathlok more to do. At least have in multiple episodes a season again

They have released that it was produced to be a series finale so it shouldn't matter. They already copied the Avengers post credits scene at the diner in the season 4 "series" finale

Clear sign that it's the final season.

Also a sign that we're in for a rough cliffhanger as well

Yes! I'm really glad this will still be around as the 1st 3 phases of the MCU comes to an end with Avengers 4. It just feels right!

Hopefully the writing is better next season. They came off a great year with Ghost Rider/Aida storyline but this year just dragged so much. No more Kree please.

Also no more about the group being wanted by the Authorities.

It would be great if they got some high profile cameos/guest appearances for the final season.

Nick fury or hill coming back for the finale episode would be cool.

Great news! The show really earned a sixth season. They've been hitting home runs all this season with some really cool stories. Can't wait to see what next season's 13-episode run has in store for fans!

I am happy that they are getting a shorter 6th season. Season 5 was such a step back from season 4 that i did not think it would get renewed at all.
I hope they can hit season 4 highs again in season 6. The show deserves that kind of quality in its most likely last season.

It will be interesting to see if it will be the final season or if Disney have plans to move it to one of their streaming services. 12 months from now Disney should have 60% of Hulu and be close to starting their Disney service.

yeah the pacing has just been too slow. the show would benefit from shorter seasons

I am afraid of it being a single pod, like an Agent Carter or Inhuman season both of which dragged to me. But then I am excited that they may have gotten the Disney go ahead to show the MCU earth dealing with the Infinity War aftermath
