casting news......

EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that British actor Simon Kassianides (Quantum of Solace) has joined the second season of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a major recurring role. He will play Bakshi, a confident right-hand man who’s not afraid to do the dirty work. Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Sept. 23. Kassianides, repped by Don Buchwald & Assoc. and Sanders.Armstrong.Caserta Management, is one of several new cast additions, along with Lucy Lawless, who will play longtime S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Isabel Hartley, British actor Nick Blood, playing a mercenary, and Reed Diamond. Kassianides will next be seen in Relativity’s Dessert Dancer.

I feel the casting is more of a henchman that works for the bad villain of the week

There's also G.W. Bridge, Daisy Johnson, Abigail Brand, Roz Solomon, etc.

"NICK BLOOD PLAYING A MERCENARY....."

Yo Nick, assuming you're on TEAM COULSON and not some random curb-stomped thug, I need you to start playing with every ancient Egyptian artifact you can find. Museums, colleges, art galleries, don't worry the "Do Not Touch" signs don't apply to you. This has to happen, come on dude! :woot:

(edited)

Meaning a Marvel mercenary perhaps??? Unless this is a total curve ball for the fans, I'm guessing Marc Spector intro in Season 2, with the comics origin = CIA-turned-mercenary, perhaps will now be in the MCU = a former SHIELD agent turned mercenary, who will become in either AOS or on a Netflix show:

Would it really be that far fetched of an idea? We did get a Deathlok origin in Season 1.

I think there's an online Agents of SHIELD tie-in comic, fwiw.

But it's the 616 comic that really counts. It also allows them to live on long after the show comes to an end. And, who knows, maybe there will be some story ideas from the comic that's so good it makes it back into the show.

I guess. As someone who is an MCU fan first and foremost, the idea of trying to drop into the comics with all the associated back story is incredibly intimidating. Probably give it a miss :(

G'day,

Yes, she did. That was pretty much said in Avengers 1 but that's past tense. Dramatically is better to play Natasha as the super spy tortured by her past misdeeds seeking redemption , wary of deep relationships. See how she played of Steve Rogers in Winter Solider. She kept flirting with him but nothing was going to happen. She even found Steve's offer of friendship hard to accept.

Now have a Black Widow movie with Hawkeye and Mocking Bird as supporting characters, those two can get it on but she can't. Excellent dramatic potential.

ta

Ralph

PS. Isabelle Hartly, Lucy Lawless character, will be Victoria Hand's lesbian lover.

Nostradamus has spoken!

I mean, if we go by Black Widow wearing that arrow pendant in The Winter Soldier, we can assume that she has some sort of relationship with Clint.

Hate to rain on your parade, but they have already announced that Nick Blood is playing a guy named Lance Hunter who in the comics is director of a British SHIELD equivalent called STRIKE. Alas, not Marc Spector.

^ Yeah, he's only a mercenary because there's no STRIKE.

They do have one of their best current writers on the project, so I'll give that a plus, but I do agree that the risk of it coming off as forced is pretty high. My hope had been that they squeeze Fitz and Simmons in the background or as needed and then slowly build it up that way. Now it seems like, if it doesn't work out, the characters will never make it back into the comics again.

That being said, I don't normally buy comics except of established stories that have proven themselves to be classics. I was thinking of making an exception for Kamela Khan. If this storyline is at all positive, maybe I'd make a second exception, but I don't really have the budget to indulge in too many comics.

LOVE the BLOOPER OF SHIELD. :D
so much so I added my fave flub to my signature lol

for those of you who've MISSED it

To Roadkill and Murdock, thanks I don't know how I missed that. Oh well, a 36 year old boy can dream. That character sounds interesting and I hope he proves to be an ally.

ABC is apparently rerunning SHIELD on Saturday nights at 8/7CT now, starting with the Sif episode this week.

Has it been announced when Season One is out in the UK on DVD/BluRay?

I swear the end of the Blooper reel is Sep. 9th

Edit yup, Sep 9th here in the states
Oh yeah, here in the states it's Sep 9th, but as Lee asked specifically about UK ;)

lol thanks, I'm a bit multitasking tonight. lol

Literally per-ordered that about five before coming in here... Annoying it's October though.

Oh man, we have to wait longer :'(

I don't usually buy TV shows on Blu... but that's a mighty fine looking boxset

Also, loved the blooper reel. Especially the "Yes Charlie" part haha
