^ I know, I can't wait! I can't wait to get more news about the season, and the season itself!

*crosses fingers for 'Grim Reaper'*
I could see Grim Reaper, especially given his tie-in with Ultron. (Ultron created his scythe). If so, the season might feature the build up, and Grim Reaper being an end of season reveal after Age of Ultron.

Except for one problem: Simon Williams is supposed to be a good guy. Grant Ward. . . is not. He's a borderline sociopath who uses the world as his scapegoat.

aka... Grimm Reaper..

early in the first season ward mentions his "family" as if they're either famous, infamous, or known for being very wealthy.

what if his brother is Simon, an incredibly famous movie star? ;)

Ward has all the makings of Grimm Reaper thus far imo

I thought the Grimm Reaper's real name was Eric Williams.

Its one thing to switch names with Deathlok because there have multiple variations of the character in the last 40 years. Grimm Reaper is something entirely different. I'd much prefer they stick to Grant Ward being Grant Ward.

I thought Simon Williams was some kind of industrialist before being a movie star, who had some dealings with Tony Stark. And wasn't he also a stunt man first before being a movie star?

There have been hints in the show that Grant Ward isn't his real name. He may well be a Williams.

Do you think there was anything else to Ward's crushed larynx (other than an excuse for him not to give away any hints to his motivations in Season 2)? Do you think it'll just be forgotten, or will he be in need of a device to help him speak? Would they go the Vader/Bane voice route to make him seem more menacing? If not Grim Reaper, are there any Marvel Villains he could play that do have such a handicap?

If he were DC, he could be Colonel Vox. :oldrazz:

Maybe he'll become Blackbolt. :p

But it was his name when he was 17 long before he became a spy.

I think there were hints that he's used fake names, not that his name isn't Grant Ward.

I don't care either way if he's Grimm Reaper or not, but I do hope they do something to develop Ward's family. It would be a shame to drop that thread.

Grant Ward isnt his real name

So the speculation is that this might be Ward's brother?

Grant Ward isnt his real name

It was his name when he was 17 before he had a motive to change it. I think it is his real name and he has just temporarily changed it since then. If someone remembers the exact quote it might be helpful, but I seem to recall it supporting either theory (while the scene between John Garrett and Grant Ward in juvenile lockup supports the idea that his name is Grant Ward).

Why are people so keen on Ward being a different character? Why can't he just be Ward?

Nice :)

Do you remember what episode the quote was in? (I've got all the episodes here on my computer, so if I know the episode I should be able to find it - unless someone else finds it first) :)

It says:

How's this for an extreme makeover? Last May, S.H.I.E.L.D. was dismantled after being infiltrated by the terrorist organisation Hydra. Now it's time for Director Couson (Clark Gregg, above) and his team to rebuild and save the day, with a little help from Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the former director. Their new headquarters, buried safely underground, in a reconverted SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) bunker from WWII, will be "authentically vintage", says executive producer Jeff Bell. "Of course, Fury has tricked it out with a few updates and a handful of cool toys."

Does anyone think it will be the same set that Agent Carter uses and that they're doubling up on it to save on costs? Of course, the Agent Carter one will be redressed to look directly from WWII.

Probably not, as they'll be filming at the same time.

I think the hints were vague on purpose.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Ward name was fake, even if he used it at that early age. Remember his parents weren't exactly supportive of him, he may have decided to change it even then. There's also the possibility the parents themselves changed it, to protect the family name, since he was in jail.

Agreed.

I want to know what happened to the little brother and I want to meet the bully older brother.

His younger brother shouts the name "Grant" in a flashback from Wards point of view. It happens in episode 8, The Well.
