Isn't it more likely the city is the kree homeworld? Its going to still be about what? 4 years? Until the inhumans movie? They arnt going to introduce them now and wait for 4 years to show the royal family... nor would they introduce Attilan before the inhumans movie.

Plus wasn't it confirmed the alien was kree by one of the actors on the show?

If this ties into the inhumans at all, its likely that the dead kree is one of the kree that experimented on humans and turned them into inhumans

Well, I doubt it's a Kree world. It could be the Blue Area of the Moon.

Attilan, the Blue Area, both connected to the Kree.

I can see it on Earth in the Himalayas

Not to mention that the "Diviner," the obelisk that Whitehall and Skye's father have, is also from the comics and is also connect to the Inhumans. And the Inhumans were the result of the Kree experimenting on ancient humans, which would fit what happened to Coulson and Garrett.

If all of this isnt what we think it is this is one helluva cruel misdirection job by Marvel.

Thats the idea.

Yeah, but I dont think shield is going to stretch the mysterious inhumans storyline over the course of 4 years.

I think the city needs to be a kree home world personally. The kree alien wouldnt be in a hurry to find atilan, itd be in a hurry to go home.

We will need to know what the city is this season, and there's no way we will see Atilan 3-4 years before an inhumans movie

That however still doesnt mean there's not an inhuman connection. The kree if one of the experimenters, and if the stone ties into the terrigen mists, that aspect of the story could be the start of explaining those who are "miracles" like wanda and pietro.

So it could be both. I just dont think the map is atilan. It seems way too soon

I think it could be Attilan, and we dont have to see it. Skye-daddy knows a lot about whats going on. In the finale (or near it) he could explain that there is a city out there where people are different...inhuman...and he came from there and Skye is one blah blah...and the wrap it up. SHIELD wouldn't be venturing into space to find it since that is beyond their capabilities. Or it could just be on Earth and be remnants of a city...

Or it could just be a Kree city...but thatd be less exciting.

Unless it was his mission to go to Attilan. You know them Kree. They like to get s**t done. No matter what. :shr:

Hala was actually my first thought when Coulson said it was a city. But then I remembered Inhumans and figured Attilan was more likely. Time will tell.

From a story telling perspective and a perspective of a general audience viewer who is experiencing all this stuff for the first time, you can't tease the audience by saying "we need to find this city" and not show it for 4 years.

I think Shield could easily go off world for several episodes. Just takes an alien tech beacon or mystical devise to get them there.

But maybe it is Atilan, and maybe when they go see it, its already abandoned and the inhumans have left earth? Idk

I don't see the show leaving earth...which is why I edited in that it could be an abandoned city that the Inhumans left behind when they ventured off-planet. It wouldnt give us the ultimate answers we need...but I'm fine with them leaving us with the idea that the residents left earth.

The Avengers haven't even left Earth yet (unless you count The Nine Realms in Thor), so I don't see this show doing it before them.

I can see it. Its not like theyd hop in a shield space ship and take off on an adventure ... just means they were quickly teleported or maybe someone gets a vision. Idk

But yeah I suppose they could have left earth by the time we see the city

Samantha Carter could get them there, she might blow up a sun in the process, but hey, nobody is perfect.

Mr. Thompson....Homer Simpson's alias in witness protection.

"Hello Mr. Thompson" (stamps feet)

yeah it's Atilan and was probably in the Himalayans but has relocated. That may be the event that killed all those people when Skye was supposedly found. I do think we will get bits and pieces of the puzzle as the seasons go on. But we won't see Medusa or Black Bolt anytime soon.

better idea

Whether its an old abandoned city (likely!), or an offshoot (possible?) it's certainly not going to lead them to the current position of the Inhuman Royal Family. Not with that movie so far away. I'm also relieved to be able to officially retire any lingering fears that the Kree corpse might been have Mar-Vell.

While we're discussing possible locations of ancient alien cities that may or may not be hidden somewhere in or near the Hunan province, China... I just want to remind everyone of this easter egg from the first season. SHIELD had a base named "Shangri-La" located in the Hunan Province. It officially closed in 1968, but was known to still be unofficially operating until the early 90's (about the time Skye would've been born). Maybe it was even a secret HYDRA base? I'll be very surprised if we don't visit Shangri-La at some point this season, and discover some alien ruins nearby. It'd be a great way to tie together several plot threads -- SHIELD, HYDRA, Skye's parentage, and the alien city -- all at once.

I still wouldn't rule out mar-vell. He may never be named. But coulson and the kree body could indeed lead to ms marvel none the less

Ah, crap. That Pillow of Life and Death thing kinda sounds like The Diviner. Please don't give me another theory to ponder...my brain can't take it.

Yeah they said the alien was older than the pyramids, so it makes sense.

I feel like they will discover an abandoned city where the Kree did their experiments, and the original Inhumans lived before some moved on to Attilan and some of them integrated back with humanity.

That means they can actually discover a city and find answers on this show without compromising the film. I don't see it being the Kree homeworld, simply because how would they be able to find that answer out.
