I was trying to think of exiled Inhumans and I stumbled upon this: In one of the Illuminati stories, it's revealed the Beyonder is a mutant Inhuman who ages ago was exiled due to his incredible abilities. Now I really hope it isn't the case, but he certainly fits the powers shown so far (and any others since the Beyonder can do whatever the hell he wants).

The Beyonder would be kinda tricky, though. It's not easy finding an actor that can rock that Jheri curl, and that's an integral part of the character. No Jheri curl? No way!

[BLACKOUT]In all seriousness, film side probably has him reserved just in case. He's one of the more likely big bad candidates post-Thanos, especially if they don't get Doom or Galactus back.[/BLACKOUT]

I really disagree that the Beyonder would be a likely candidate. Perhaps I'm out of touch, not being up to date with the goings on for the last 10 years of Marvel continuity.
I did enjoy the Mike Zeck artwork of the original 1984(?) 12 issue monthly miniseries.However the Beyonder character impressed me as a shortsighted convenient solution to a shallow plot designed to sell action figures.
With no connection to the already decades old mythologies (crafted and weaved into a universe inhabited with fascinating, imaginative alien cultures) he appears to be an anemic entity overpowered but poorly thought out.
Enlighten me, how has this character evolved in the following 30 years of Marvel's mythos to have taken up such an important position along side of those most feared rogues gallery?

I mean I enjoyed the intro of the Illuminati that sent Banner into deep space, setting off the "Planet Hulk" story line.
So has the Boyonder narrative been retooled to fit into an engrossing epic that fits well? Is he a villain or antihero? What graphic novels cover this? What is the Concensus of the forum? What say you?

It's not so much that the Beyonder is a great villain. It's just that he's one of the only cosmic level threats with major ties to the Avengers, Inhumans, and Spider-Man (aka the characters Marvel is focusing on) if they don't get any properties back from Fox.

Not really a game changing midseason finale IMHO. I feel like with this show there's a lot of carrot dangling.

We still have no idea what IT is. Malick says it's an Inhuman, doesn't seem to be an Inhuman at all.

At one time, it was said Lockjaw was actually an Inhuman(implication being he was some dude). I believe he's now an Inhuman canine officially, but the key word is Inhuman. Basically, if it's an Inhuman serpent or something that wouldn't actually be that odd by Marvel standards.

It might be the beyonder based on what we've seen...aside from the 80's version he was found out to be an inhuman by the illuminati the beholder has shape shifted on a number of occasions

Nah, that thing's no Beyonder. They might be doing a take on the Hive (not originally an Inhuman, but neither was Quake).

Hive's originally from Secret Warriors, too, and this show's writer's are very clearly drawing from that.

Yeah, I'm really liking the Hive theory. Especially with the whole parasite thing and the connection to Hydra.

Seems likely imo. Though I do wonder if Marvel has the balls, like Flash with King Shark, to show him in that form at some point as well.

I am a great fan of the series but this episode was well disappointing.
So much that they could have done
But no real story development (just a Goa'uld copy baddy.)
No back story, no Inhumans story (can't even use the name Quake!)
And despite all the build up everybody lives happily everafter.
Sorry, but for me a very weak mid season break compared with last year.

I has to believe that the writers didn't just wasted Ward Character. I think he will become someone in the comics. I think this is another original origin story.

Ward is dead
We learn that Bill is dead too
We learn that the alien is a shape shifter that can inhabit host bodies.
Now the Alien is in Ward's body and on Earth.
