Can somebody make me an avatar of the part where Skye says "This is so cool" at the end? And since it happens pretty quick keep it slightly slow.

'Agents of SHIELD' casts 'Luck' actor -- EXCLUSIVE

The team working on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have an unwritten rule: All super-powers introduced on the show must be explained by science — not magic or supernatural forces.* So it should come as no surprise that the show is adding another scientist to its ensemble cast.

Actor Ian Hart is joining the highly anticipated ABC series in a recurring role. As usual, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is being very tight-lipped about the character and how he will impact the drama.

The English actor has had roles on A&E’s Bates Motel, HBO’s Luck, FX’s Dirt and the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. ABC had no comment. The series premieres Tuesday, Sept. 24.

*Yes, Avengers heroes Thor and Loki are “gods.” They’re grandfathered into the mythology of the show.

Professor Quirrell.

The show looks a little cheesy, i hope that with needing to be explained by science they just mean that if magic is introduced they have to show how it works.

What's wrong with magic or supernatural forces? That excludes the likes of Ghost Rider or Blade.

Speaking of supernatural forces. Supernatural is moving to Tuesday night. Are these shows going to conflict???

This is at 8, SN is at 9.

In the Blade movies, wasn't vampirism some form of virus or inherited thing? Blade's gf came up with some sort of cure, which caused Deacon Frost to explode. :awesome: So that could work.

^ Agreed.

Maybe once they get a solid foundation, they will branch out. I can understand them wanting to have a certain coherent conceit so as not to push audience suspension of disbelief too far (even though it makes me sad), but hopefully in future seasons they will push those self-imposed boundaries.

Arrow also had a strict rule of no powers and uber realism...until the first season ended.

If they're waiting on Dr. Strange to do magic, I hope they tie Thor more into the magic scene afterward too. I mean, the fact that gods exist seems like it should be enough to cover magic already, but I know some people still cling to that "they're just aliens" nonsense.

since this is 8pm, I guess the action will have to be relatively family-friendly-- I wonder how intense the language will be.

hope to heck Strange is connected to Thor more, I don't know how to explain it but it fits to that part of the MCU.
It just seems that not only by magic, but the style.

There's not too much cursing in the MCU films, so I don't imagine there will be much in the TV show.

I don't see why there should be anyway. It doesn't add anything and makes it inappropriate for younger children.

"Well, superheroes swear. No reason to ***** about it."

Because real people do curse from time to time. Not saying it should be Def Comedy Jam in these movies, but a few words here and there add realism. I'm all for it.

There is a limit to what can be said on network TV, unlike cable or the films. Even in Iron Man 3, Feige had to constantly remind Shane Black that of the limits to swearing in a PG-13 movie. On network TV, I think they're limited to damn, hell, ass, the two b-words, and that's it. The Whedons will make the dialog realistic even without dropping F-bombs all over the place.

eh hardcore swearing has it's uses but I don't require it in my superhero material.

Been seeing more tv ads repeated for Shield on abc. they don't seem to be different
