Variety quoted RT's head saying that they have a "database" of reviews of shows that they'll be using to rate entire past seasons, in addition to culling reviews of current shows. They've started out by rating this season's pilots, but will go on to give ratings as the season progresses. The plan is to downgrade a show's rating if critics later sour on it. All of this isn't for the audience's edification, of course, but rather to "monetize" TV reviews to add revenue for the site.

It seems like a pointless exercise to me. Hopefully the thing won't become popular.

But then shows could bounce from "fresh" to "rotten" and back over and over. Or if they do a cumulative tally, the meter could still bounce all over the place. Taking the episode recaps that some sites do as reviews would lead to some ridiculous results because a lot of those writers seem to be click ****es rather than "serious" reviewers.

True but I don't see any other way to make it work. Assuming they keep adding in reviews for new episodes, it'll just become an uneven jumble of reviews. Sorting by episode at least gives the reviews context

Recurring? It is most likely a SHIELD Agent of some type or an antagonist.

My guess is antagonist.
