What ever happened to Loki's staff? Maybe getting stabbed and the energy from the weapon had a weird reaction to coulson. It was powered by what we now know is the space gem. Maybe his essence was flying away like in Thor 2. All the asgardians who died, their essence goes into the world tree. Earth is a part of the nine realms. When they showed coulson drifting off I think it was a recycled shot from Thor 1. When they show how to get to Asgard.

I really don't think she's the cellist.
I'm more intrigued by the hint at her having some type of power.

As far as we know it's still at SHIELD, but I don't think it transported him TO Asgard...MAYBE to the same area Frigga went after her funeral

I agree. If they maintain this vibe, I could accept AoS as existing in the same universe as the rest of the MCU. It had humor, but still much less & much better than what we've been getting in the past.

I agree. With thy build up, I thought the Doc was going to say something like Coulson went mad, but "the will to live" line seemed a little eh.

I didnt get the feeling that mike was becoming Deathlok or anything like that. Just that he is messed up from the explosion and has the same eye implant that the girl had earlier in the season, and will be controlled by the enemy.

I think Coulson's a clone, the doctor just doesn't have the heart to tell him.

He's not a robot because he has a brain. They had to regrow and play with his brain to get his consciousness/quantum field back into the body from wherever it drifted to...
Limbo, Negative Zone, Valhalla, etc..

They had to trick his mind/consciousness and subconsciousness into not wanting to move on, capture his quantum field (as Jane calls it), and put it back into the clone body. If he finds out he is a clone, his subconscious mind will stop regulating his breathing...but there may be a mind link he has to something as a backup that can keep him alive if he stops breathing again.

I like the idea of Mike becoming Deathlok.

I do too. That is a character that likely won't ever see the big screen and it also fits the Mike Peterson character at this point. If it ends up going that way, it would be a pretty brilliant move by the writers.

Ultron is non-biological. Whatever technology was used to bring Coulson back, he's still human, or at the very least something non-synthetic.
Plus, it doesn't make sense that they'd link a decidedly good guy character like Coulson and make him the evil that wants to destroy all humans and will fight the Avengers in A2.

"Heaven and Earth" was a Thor comic miniseries, is there a link there ?
