Enjoyed this episode, looking forward for more like this

How was I or anyone supposed to know he was brought back by technology? There were endless possibilities that could have happened.

Now we get to figure out more of the process, that's certainly fun in my eyes. They've got me hooked. He knows, now he's going to seek explanations. The mystery of his resurrection is solved and that's what they told us we'd see. Now we have a new mystery to follow and get answers just as Coulson is getting te answers, we get to learn them as he does.

I think the biggest obstacle with this show is that they can't really present "large scale" threats for SHIELD, in general, because we know what SHIELD has as their resources (Hellcarrier, Avengers, etc), so whenever they try to introduce these elements that are supposed to have these big consequences, it's kind of hard to take it all that seriously at times.

Plus, as someone had mentioned in the past, it's really difficult to do a concept of presenting "everyday characters" within a world of superheroes because most people are interested in those superheroes. The only way you can really get away with that is by making these characters very interesting, and so far, I feel like the show has kind of failed to do that with several of the characters.

How was his resurrection explained in any way that you didn't surmise beforehand?

He was dead...and through technology, he was brought back. You didn't know that already?

Uh, no. Nobody did. There were lots of theories floating around, including LMDs, magic, Asgardian technomagic (including residuals/side effects from Loki's spear), aliens, robotics, Vision, and even weirder stuff. The only thing tonight's episode did is narrowed down the field somewhat.

I doubt Coulson is Vision. If Vision is to appear in the MCU, I think he'll be played by Paul Bettany.

It would be interesting to see if Asgard had anything to do with his resurrection. I would guess that Thor knows that Coulson is alive.

I doubt Thor knows; he would've made an effort to find and reunite with Son of Coul at some point during his return to Earth. Or at least mention something about it.

And no, I still don't believe Coulson is Vision; but I think we might be seeing some connective tissue about how AIs get transferred into android/robotic bodies here ---- Arnim Zola, Coulson as an LMD/cyborg, Ultron's AI taking over Iron Man's latest suit in AOU, Bettany/JARVIS gaining a physical body as Vision.

So it looks like Coulson LMD theory is still there. Not sure if my theory of him being revived by Alien DNA or alien tech still holds true.

Yup this whole AI stuff seems like its going to ultimately be a very large thread in Ohase 2 of the McU. It does somewhat confuse me though so I hope they do explain it in some capacity if its going to factor into AoS, Cap2 and AoU. (Which all signs point to that happening.)

And I've also seen things of Mandarin being an AI so that ties into IM3 and the Kingsley one shot I assume.

I just have a hard time understanding it though I guess. I get what an Aritigical Intelligence is, (Jarvis). But the whole transferring of it from a humans existence to a network or computer kinda confuses me, so I hope it's explained.

Reading some of the comments on CBM make me want to ram my head into a wall.. Do people watch these things with their eyes closed? Lol.

I like some of the stuff people post on the site, but the users there are brutal.

It's a warzone. Half of the **** isn't even relevant to the specific article. It's just verbal wars. It's actually quite funny lol

Plus they post GIFs that have nothing to do with the actual topic.

Yeah and when like 3 or 4 of the weirdo posters go into like odd picture posting battles I'm just sitting there like.. Why? Some characters over there, but it sure as hell isn't a place to discuss anything, just to read some articles or editorials that are generally well done.

Very solid episode. They did push the #CoulsonLives thing forward. I don't care so much that they didn't reveal the mystery in it's entirety. They did give us a good amount of tangible detail that should lead us to a concrete answer down the road.

The only potential problem is that once they do reveal what exactly happened to Coulson, then it'd better be unexpected and shocking enough to justify dragging the reveal out. It's the same with May's past. If they fail, then it will be the mother of all disappointing "that's it, really" anti-climaxes.

just explain everything already. whats with this nonsense? ugh

Yeah, mystery sucks. Let's just get to punching things.

I assumed it was just representative of "the afterlife" and not a Thor tie in. Not everything has to be a crossover.

That's could be true, but this is now the second time we've had a brain being dealt with and also space showing up. Seems like they're somehow trying to show a connection of the two.

Hmm wasn't there something about Coulson and Mike being twins?

Now if that stinger is true maybe they revealed alot more than you imagined?

Now as for that space bit my first reaction was that a residue from Loki's staff which is now believed to have been powered by the Tesseract, so what if that scene was indicating where Coulson's soul was located until they started tinkering?

Has anyone thought about Obadiah Stane himself?

Stark had an operational JARVIS in Iron Man 1 didn't he?

Stane has a habit of co-opting or misusing Stark's inventions so wouldn't it make sense for him to have his own version of JARVIS but with his own personality?

Now what if thats the source of Ultron?

Stane had links to the Ten Rings, he has the tech used as described on Po he may have been killed in Iron Man 1 but that doesn't mean he didn't have other black projects such as Centipede for example thats effectively outlived him... or has it since their interest in Coulson seemed preoccupied with how he survvied dying what if the whole purpose of Centipede wasn't just super soldiers but a way to restore someone whose for all purposes lacks a human body?

Great episode hit all the right emotional notes cant wait to see whats next

Now, the mystery could be where was his "soul" for a week (and why his body didnt decompose)...but honestly, I doubt very many care enough to be strung along further on the same mystery. When a tv show promises answers and doesnt deliver, the public's patience can be strained. Instead of knocking people's socks off tonight (which was needed) it was yet another dropped ball.

so...you would have preferred to know who killed Laura Palmer in the first few epsiodes of Twin Peaks then?

I'd rather not discover that the actual premise of the series isn't what they said it was in the first place thank you...

Well at least Twin Peaks have doesn't the same reaction as Lost eventually did though...

Would it really be so bad to discover how he was brought back rather than just another series of questions with no end in sight ala Lost?

Still finds it amusing that people feel "miss lead" by this series.... From the previews and pilot alone it was obvious what this show would be like imo. Complaining about it half a season later is kinda pointless and silly. But something tells me those who are will be still doing so 5 seasons later (as they continue to also still watch it)

Yeah, I thought the visual reference to Stane's weapon he used against Raza in IM1 was very obvious. Although Stane just paralyzed Raza, and left him to the others to finish off; maybe the tech wasn't advanced enough to actually kill in 2008...? In any event, the important thing to take from that is that Stane --- and by extension Ten Rings, Killian, Mandarin and AIM --- was part of the Centipede organization. Maybe there's been some political infighting and splinter cells or whatever, but they're all tied together somehow.
