looked like coulson was drifting off the same path that leads to asgard. from thor 1 the trip through space.

Yeah the tech that killed Po definitely looked like the IM1 gadget.

The Coulson thing wasn't what I was expecting, but I was at least happy to see such concentration not only the mystery itself but on Coulson himself. It's about time the show starting diving into. And, though not the LMD I was expecting, I can get behind the whole zombie thing (?). At least the episode took itself seriously and I could buy that these were actual agents. From the look of next week, SHIELD is off to a good midseason.

I was hoping Coulson's memories would be Loki stabbing him with his staff, and Shield trying to revive him.

We would of gotten our Loki cameo in today's episode, but Joss Whedon ended up being silly and did all of his memories on Tahiti.

Did Coulson have some kind of out of body experience?

How could he see the robot from where he was ?

Is Deathlok an X-Men character or is he under Marvel studios umbrella?

I think that's what it will ultimately be...Coulsons a ROBOT with his brain.

They kept h alive while they bit by bit moved his brain to an LMD body hence him "having an out of body experience". In his mind, that's what'd he think.

And yeah, Furys got to be at the end of all this.

Can't be a robot, he bleeds and bruises just like a human and the blood is not synthetic.

Or maybe we just saw an early prototype of Ultron creating Vision :yay:

So what was the big reveal for Coulson? What did we learn?

someone called mike travers are used to make 'Deathlok' (according to wiki)... could be a hint to that Vileone

Nooo. Coulson knows who the cellist is, they were obviously talking about a person he remembers. It's not Rayna.

It really could be. The faces and appearances of the surgeons were altered in his memory. There's no telling how far back into his mind Fury ordered them to mess with.

Regarding Mike:

SHIELD determined that he was dead...

So...did SHIELD then throw his "dead" body in the garbage, allowing Centipede to recover it and implant him with the eye thing?

Or is someone high up in SHIELD working with Centipede, maybe even the Clairvoyant (explaining why they know so much about Coulson)?

So why didn't she tell him she was the cellist? Wouldn't that have helped her cause even better than mentioning herself in the third person?

A SHIELD traitor could tie into CA TWS well. Maybe Hand?

I dunno, sounds like Mike Petersen is becoming MCU's Deathlok.

That he was put together slowly over several days and various surgeries. He'd been conscious and had become what the surgeon described as a thing. The Tahiti memory implant was the result of the last surgery, in which they had a robot working on his brain.

She said in the episode she had to use the machine too. Clearly she's got some gaps.

So he was human and is no longer human?

BASICALLY

Fury ordered the "procedures" more than 7 of them to keep Phil alive, but in order to do so they had to keep Phil conscience through the surgeries, which is where you see him saying "Please let me die", in order to make it a more PLEASANT memory they gave him that Magical Island memory
