I vote for Renner. In Cap 2, the "shield movie", only Hawk eye is missing, maybe he's after the Clairvoyant with the team!

As long as we're throwing possibilities out there, I agree it would be nice and would prefer to see one of the big ones (Cap, Widow, Hawkeye, etc...). Was thinking/had a random thought, could another possibility be Peggy Carter? (we know she's still alive/showing up in Winter Soldier)

Like I said, random thought

I'd take that. I don't know how likely it is, but I'd love it. Just like Sif, he'd end up having more screen time in the MCU after an episode of AoS than he has from his other appearances so far.

The thing with that is Cap works for SHIELD. Coulson being back alive has gotten around SHIELD, especially now that he is back on the job.

Although them being told he died could be chalked up to Fury being Fury. I mean the guy went to Coulson's locker, got his Captain America cards and dipped them in someone's blood.

Plus what are they going to do? Get mad? Them being told he died got them focused to save New York.

"I'm mad now because the feelings I had over Coulson's death got me focused, which then I helped save New York from an alien attack. Damn you Fury"

They'd be kinda mad when they heard, "Oh, Coulson's still alive; Fury used alien blood to resurrect him with medical experiments the likes of which haven't been seen since Auschwitz. While he lay on the operating table begging for death to release him from the pain. And they gave him a separate division and kept him far, far away from The Avengers."

They wouldn't be given those details, they would just be told Coulson is still alive. It's been made abundantly clear that only a few people knew that Coulson was dead for days and even fewer people know where the GH325 actually came from. Almost everyone else that knows he is alive thinks that he was dead for only seconds.

Coulson being alive isn't exactly a secret anymore every SHIELD agent that has come across him doesn't seem to be shocked that he is alive. The guy was walking around The Hub.
There was even at one point a whole bunch of agents looking for him around the world when he went with the clairvoyant's people. According to Agent Hand the response and the manpower for his search was unprecedented for a Level 8 agent.

S there is a lot of people within SHIELD that know Coulson's alive. Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye all work for SHIELD. Which to me means them that the knowledge of Coulson being alive if not far away from them.

Cap would almost certainly be royally pissed off at Fury if he knew that Coulson was alive. Not only because Fury lied to all of the Avenger's faces, but also because of how painful/nasty/unpleasant the procedure to resurrect Coulson seems to have been.

The first time I watched this show I was massively underwhelmed, but after giving it a second shot and continually watching it I'm really enjoying it. I think it's very well written for the most part, save for a few corny bits here and there. I just finished the fifth episode, and it's getting more and more intriguing as it goes along.
Needless to say I haven't been keeping up with the fans reactions, although from everything I've gathered it's not quite a ratings hit? Is that true? What are yalls thoughts on the show?
Only reason I'm asking and not perusing this thread is because, as I said, I am only on the fifth episode and don't want to be spoiled.

It seems kind of split amongst people who seem relieved that the show is finally hitting it's stride after 12(!) episodes, and those who are pissed that it isn't the Marvel Super Hero Guest Hour.

The majority of complaints focus on the writing, which imo is indeed hit or miss. I think the show is finding it's feet but damn it took long enough.

Ratings have been steady-ish although frequent breaks have chipped into those and they apparently took a decent hit after the last one for the Olympics.

The episodes have gotten better in the last month or so.

That's good to know. I just finished the episode "girl in the flower dress" and I already like where it's heading, so I'm glad that it only improves from there.

That was the episode where it started climbing upwards for me. I will admit I thought that one sucked pretty hard.

It's not a perfect show (no show is), but it's gotten better.

Just finished episode 9 and I gotta say, I'm really startin to love it. They're getting very creative and every episode has some brilliant moments that genuinely surprise me. Hats off to Marvel, once again.

One thing I really appreciate about this show and the one sure fire edge it has over Arrow (not dissing Arrow) is the casting for the comic book characters. We might not get them that often, but Marvel sure as hell has some really cool, interesting casting choices. J. August Richards (Deathlok), Ian Hart (Graviton), Saffron Burrows (Victoria Hand), Dylan Minnette (Blizzard), Bill Paxton (John Garrett), Elena Satine (Lorelei). I have enjoyed every one of these performances.

j august was in arrow as an assassin in one episode i think.. dont know if that was a comic character

There was suspicion he was based on a very specific foe Mr Blank

See the bottom of that wikipedia page for details on that!

Oh and the episode of Agents of SHIELD yesterday on E4 was The Bridge meaning unless they play silly b**gars again next weeks episode is the first actual new episode shown over here in the UK since Christmas!

Lately i call this show the "Scary Monsters syndrome show". Many, many David Bowie albums were hailed "The best since Scary Monsters" since then sometimes by the same critics, you would think every cd was. For the last bunch i´ve been reading "its finally hitting ist stride" for eveyone of them i get the impression it has been hitting it for a while, not finally... :oldrazz:

Just came across this one on another blog, but, in the episode T.A.H.I.T.I, when Coulson is on the operating table and the machine is working on his brain, and he says "let me die"

What if that was Mahr-Vehl pleading to die?

Ah well, I never hated the show it was disappointing at times though. Now I can't wait for each episode to air, I'd say it hit its stride 3 or 4 episodes back.

The bigger question I have is how will this show address what happens in TWS, assuming SHIELD gets shaken up as previews would have us believe?

They have to address it, but can't refer to specific details, since you want people to go see the movie. They managed to get away with it for Thor: TDW, but since TWS seems to involve SHIELD directly, I wonder how they will write around it.

^ It's safe to assume that we might have Team Coulson go rogue and become a Secret Warriors-style team working independent from SHIELD.

I hope we at LEAST hear about Amora. THAT would be cool. :more:

Maybe but then where would they get all their intel? Could they still even use the bus?
