Ah! My PS2 games won't play anymore!

Since getting my HD TV, I've played God of War, MGS3, Ratchet and Clank 2 and some other stuff on my PS3...

only nowadays, when I select any of these games (any of my PS2 games at all for that matter) the screen just goes black and flickers different shades of black every minute or so. Any reason its started doing that? Seeing as I still have my PS2, I don't mind too much, but I've got data on GoW and MGS3 I'd like to get back to.

What's wrong?

I don't know if your cables have this or not, but is there a little selector switch anywhere that will have your PS3 put out a SD signal instead of an HD signal? I think the PS3 is emulator based now, so it might be having some trouble trying to upscale the images.

Nope. But I think I could just use a scart cable and but the PS3 back in SD, that might work.

I won't, cause if it does, it won't be until well after I've got/beaten the game 500 times and then I'll be like "meh".
