Alan Wake.

I think Alan Wake has sold well enough, it's passed the 1 million mark a while ago.

It surely must have passed by now, according to this site it's up to 1.04 million copies.

It's not bad but a bit underwhelming, considering how long the development took unfortunately. Anyway Remedy has said it's not Alan Wake 2 nor is it a downloadable content but it'll be an addition to the universe, I'm happy we'll get something more though, I haven't even played The Writer yet. I just hope it's not a Kinect title.

im curious about alan wake some people say its good but a lot of people at my school says its bad anyone actually suggest it? i really enjoy the silent hill series and looking at alan wake sorta reminded me of silent hill. so any suggestions?

I would totally recommend, although it's a short game it's an excellent story-driven with a great pacing and the atmosphere of the game it's just fantastic, it's creepy for sure.

thanks crokett. i wasnt sure about this game its the fact that i loved silent hill. and i wondered if this would be any good.

It was like playing through my own Stephen King story. I loved it and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. As soon as my friend finishes my copy I'm going through it again. And I still haven't played the dlc.

Well said. The whole game felt like a tribute to King's best days. Its DLC wasn't that good and while one of them added a few things gameplay wise (More use for floating texts), the story of both was unnecessary and didn't move the plot forward.
But god I loved the main game.

I think Alan Wake has sold well enough, it's passed the 1 million mark a while ago.

Sadly that's a really weak number. Even something like Heavenly Sword that sold more than 2 million was considered a bomb. Alan Wake was in development for more than 5 years and needed to sell 3-4 million to even cover the costs :(

i went to this store and almost tried to buy the game when the store clerk told me the disc was missing.

Hmm this thread reminds me I still need to play through Alan Wake on Nightmare...

i play alan wake. i absolutley love it. although its not as scary as silent hill. buts its got its own scary something original.

I always found it to be more thriller than "scary"....Alan Wake, that is

I found it to be extremely tense most of the time. Not quite as intense as maybe Dead Space but it was pretty creepy.

I have a much lower tolerance for scary games. I can watch horror movies all night and not blink, but games slowly chip away at my nerves as I play. Dead Space was hard to get thru. Wake was easier but still quite spooky.

Sadly I've never had a go at a Silent Hill title.

Silent Hill 2 is still the scariest game I've ever played, I think. But it's been years, so I'm not sure if it still holds up.

I prefer 2....I get a little mad with Alan Wake.....forces of darkness and all Ive got is this camping flashlight and a god damn pistol

screw you guys :argh:

One thing I never liked about the game was there was no melee. I love the dodge button and I love how it goes into slow motion sometimes when your dodging a knife it looks so damn cool but just a little melee would have been nice especially on Nightmare because there isn't too much ammo around. I really hope a sequel comes out soon because for this generation this game was one of the best playing experiences
