I'm excited for it.
Wow, I guess it's good that I totally forgot Alan Wake existed before seeing that footage, then. It was just a cool new game to me until I started reading about how it'd been in development hell for years, which jogged my memory of hearing something about it a long time ago.

Some new gameplay videos at GameTrailers.com.

It's been known for some time that years-in-development psychological thriller Alan Wake will have an episodic nature. That nature will continue after the game is out. The aim, it seems, is to created gaming's version of something like the television drama Lost. At CES, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will have DLC — something that Alan Wake creator and writer Sam Lake hinted at last month in an interview with GameSpot.
When asked about post release content, Lake replied, "We have talked about it, and with our episode-based structure, it would be very logical. But nothing has been decided on the matter, and right now, we are fully focused on polishing the game and shipping it. After that, let's see."
With the game not yet shipped, it looks like Microsoft and developer Remedy Entertainment have taken a break from being fully focused on the game and confirm Alan Wake DLC at this year's CES.
"We certainly hope so," replied Markus Maki, Development Director at Remedy, when asked about Alan Wake becoming a long-running franchise. "That naturally depends how much you like it, so ultimately it's up to you."
Remedy Entertainment CFO Mika Reini added: "We've certainly planned things in a way that allows us to do more of Alan Wake in the future. We don't want to close any doors."
“The announcement of DLC was made by [head of MS's Entertainment and Devices] Robbie Bach, but we’re going to wrap this one up first before going into more detail about downloadable content.
“What I can tell you is that Alan Wake will have a conclusive and satisfactory ending,” he further added.
Speaking on the subject of the DLC, Reini stated: “We have some really great ideas for DLC but, to be honest, they are still at an idea stage and will be defined later on.”
I just can't wait to see the story, personally. Sam Lake is a grade-A badass when it comes to video game storytelling. Max Payne holds up as a really slick, well written crime drama to this very day.
