Universal has distribution rights to Sub-Mariner yes, Marvel has production rights.

GoldGoblin said:Alba's character is suppose to be the weaker one of the group, and now she is more powerful than the other three put together.
Dragon said:It's also been established that Gwen Stacy had children with the Green goblin during a period when she had no way of carrying children to term. It's been established by Marvel that even though the Kingpin can only lift 1000 lbs on his best day, has nothing more than peak human speed, he can still survive, and even win a slugfest with Spider-Man, who is 20 times stronger and ten times faster. It's called BAD WRITING.
Again aside from pretentious BS feminism, what reason is there to explain why Sue is the most powerful? She could never contain the torch's full power. She can't withstand a full on attack from Grimm. What it comes down to with the Ff is merely who gets off their attack first. The team is equally powerful.

Ummmmm no...What it comes down to with the Ff is merely who gets off their attack first. The team is equally powerful.

Dragon said:That makes no sense on so many levels:
1. Doom knowing who or what the Surfer is.
2. Doom creating the circumstances to drain the Surfer's power.
3. The lack of any screentime to flesh out the Surfer, so we know just how much power Doom is achieveing.
4. What's happening with Galactus during all of this?
In the comics there was establishing of all of this before we got to Doom stealing the Surfer's powers so it worked.

But you've got to broaden your horizons a bit, the comics can't be translated from panels into a full feature movie without any changes. Some changes probably hurt the story from a comic-book fan's point of view, but the general audience won't know the difference and in their point of view, the changes usually make the story better, more consistent (yes, and a bit more "popcorn" if you want to say that). Anyways, enough on that matter since it's all subjective no matter who says what.

The general audience, without any previous knowledge of the Fantastic Four, probably walked away from the movie thinking about how dumb the comics probably are.
Which changes do you think were unjustified and/or unnecessary?Flash Fearless said:There's a difference between making changes that will work better in a film and making changes that shouldn't be made. A lot of changes were made in the X-Men and Spider-Man movies, but they were still great movies.

snuunuu said:I don't get one thing. Why is it that you say the moviemakers are simple minded idiots only thinking of money when they decide to deviate from the comics a little, and then go on preaching that the comic-book way is the only way and there never has been and never will be a better way to tell the story? Hypocricy much? I don't know, just something I thought I picked up on some of you guys.

Now, I didn't grow up with the comics but I've read some issues and a lot of stuff on the net, and I know something about the characters. I didn't actually mind the changes that much, I can understand why they made them. And I'm fine with Sue being the most powerful of the four as an individual. She's my favourite one, actually, and was so even before I came to realize she's the strongest. I just click with the heroines better, I guess. And I'm also a bit baffled with JA's statement that she can "do" everyone else's powers, but I'm open minded about it and wait until I see what she meant with that before I totally judge the idea.

Lord Blackbolt said:I agree. Plus...they should save that story for the 3rd movie. it'll be a nice trilogy type of feel.
