Alfie Patten: Dad At 13

Ahem. I am told I have bad taste before, but I wouldn't do it with that girl.

I am the same age as the girl. And I am very surprised they already have a kid. Well, I have been thinking about kids myself. But the difference is I have healthy brains and wait until I'm in my mid-20s.

Well, this makes me only think one thing.

"Welcome to 2009."

:o

By the way... No way that 13 year old is really 13. I was a babyface for a long time. But that's just over the top.

The controversy over teen father Alfie Patten: Who's the daddy?

Tawdry revelations have emerged since news broke of the 13-year-old Eastbourne boy fathering a child

The story of "child dad" Alfie Patten has lurched from soap opera to farce since it emerged last week that he had become a father at just 13 years of age.

When the Sun broke the story it was hard not to be shocked by the sight of the baby-faced teenager, whose voice has not even broken yet, posing with his daughter Maisie, which led to the Conservatives citing the case as an example of Britain's social decline.

Since then there's been a stream of tawdry revelations about the boy's family - and that of his 15-year-old girlfriend Chantelle Steadman. Some featured Alfie's absent father, "serial love cheat" Dennis Patten, who has had either (depending on which paper you believe) seven or nine children with different women. Other stories detailed family feuds, further teenage pregnancies and questioned whether Alfie was physically capable of fathering a child. Small wonder that the News of the World has compared the situation to Channel 4 drama Shameless - only with "the total absence of anything remotely funny".

By this weekend, two other boys had come forward to suggest they, and not Alfie, might be the father. Richard Goodsell, 16, and Tyler Barker, 14, told the News of the World that they had intercourse with Chantelle several times around the time she fell pregnant.

The families of all the boys involved are now demanding DNA tests to determine who really is the daddy, with Alfie's mother, Nicola Hill, telling the Sunday Mirror: "I don't believe it is his baby."

The paternity dispute has prompted one poster on the News of the World's website to mischievously suggest: "Anyone else think this could turn out like the scene in Spartacus where they all claim to be him. Lots of 13- to 16-year-olds standing up claiming i'm the Daddy!"

You might wonder why these other boys are suddenly so keen to take on responsibility for a baby. But if today's Independent on Sunday is correct, there's a fortune to be made from the story, with "at least 15 television companies locked in a fierce battle to make a documentary" about the story and media experts estimating Alfie "could earn up to half a million pounds".

Let's just hope this doesn't prompt a wave of copycat pregancies as 11 and 12 year olds across the country try to cash in.

And the madness continues :whatever:
This is turning into a media circus freak show

She was sleeping with an 16 and 14 year old as well at the same time. The south of england has now officially become worst than the north.

And why on earth would they do that?
I reckon word got round that the quick n easy way to lose your virginity would be by spending 5 minutes with that girl. Desperate times for desperate teenagers? I knew girls like that when I was their age. Of course, I didn't know them in the same way, but I knew of their reputations.

I'm sure she's laughing, cos at the end of it all, she's going to receive up to £30,000 in taxpayer's money for benefits, plus she's bound to be getting money from the tabloids for selling the story.

Money that she'll spend on a plasma tv and a few cans of Stella no doubt :whatever:

They where probabley on the White Lightening and Bacardi Breezers at the local park bench and got down to some nookie after hassling grannies and getting some old guy to buy them cigarettes.

Av just ad a cider lolly an am off me ed!

I'm surprised there's more than one person in the world that would have sex with her

Even if Alfie patten aint the father (and i think he is) its still a story because its a 12 year old who you'd think isnt in puberty yet is having sex!

I couldn't help but laugh a bit when I saw that pic, I didn't expect that kid to look THAT young. Sadly this isn't anything new, this type of stuff happens all the time, people will piss and moan about it for awhile then forget about when some other kid does something stupid.

Really? a boy of 12 fathering children in modern times? thats something new.......

A DNA test should have been carried out in the first place.

Yeah I know I stated the obvious. I just don't get why stuff like this is considered "News". Now if it was some futurama "I fathered my own grandpa" type stuff, THAT would be news.

The real shame of it all is how Alfie or any of these other kids realistically think they can be a good parent to this child. It's like they think it's all a big game. The ones who are realy going to care for this child is the government and the parent's parents which is not how raising a child is supposed to be. :(

I'm being totally serious. Its something weird. If you would of told me a week ago that there was a boy of 12 fathering children in modern times, I'd have told you to Give me proof or to go get your head checked.

A friend of mine had a baby at 12, this was like 13 years ago, so its not uncommon in modern times

In some cases they feel that way because they've never seen what it meas to be a good parent. while I don't agree with always blaming the parents for everthing the kids do, some of these situations are a direct result of piss poor parenting. If a kids mom spends more time at a club than at home or if his dad serial procreating, there's a chance the kid is going to think that's just how things are supposed to be.

Nope it's not weird at all (sadly), I remember seeing pregnant girls in junior hight all the way through highschool. It's always been something that has happened, just now the parents don't send the daughter off to a convent or something as much anymore.

Sad but true. I also think that if a parent always gives their kid stuff, that kid never fully appreciates what things cost. They just take them for granted. Now, Alfie will find out the hard way about things like food and diapers. That stuff ain't cheap.

The youngest pregnant person I ever knew was a gal who was in my senior class at high school. She was still 17 so not so young as these people. I never knew anyone in junior high that got pregnant, that is a bit extreme. :(

There was a pregnant girl in my french class. She was 15. She joined the school already pregnant and was there for about two months then she left and no one heard from her again.

My friend was the mother.... guy she was banging would have been 15/16 at the time

Exactly! The mother is the young one, usaully. never have i heard of a father who was under 13 outsider of a Ephebophilia/Peadophiliac realationship.

I can see it now.

I would hazard a guess that there have been many 12-13 year olds knocking up women 15-16, but they are bright enough to stay out of the spot light of the media, look at these kids in the thread they are being ridiculed for everything looks/life style, the works, people in the past were most likely smarter.

I bet you anything in the next few weeks a similar case will come along.

I remember when I was in 5th grade one of my classmates was pregnant. That was over 14 years ago.Her name was Melissa Ray,and the Father was another classmate,Ryan Emil.
