Yep.Is that the one on Ryushi and the Asian woman teaming up with the Pred?

Yep.
I remember enjoying that GL/Aliens story, especially that situation you mentioned about Kyle not having access to the ring. I also read a Vampirella vs Aliens story which was pretty decent IIRC. Vampi in space worked fine.Actually, I think there were good Alien and Predator stories in the comics and book form that turned out a lot better than any of the parade of big screen followups.
I even enjoyed Green Lantern/Aliens. Seems goofy, but it actually puts Kyle Rayner in a tense situation when he can't get access to his power ring.
That might have been a little too close to Aliens for Fox but it still would have been a good contender. Certainly better than either movie, especially the second one.Man I loved the comics and I owned all the books in that series. Really can't believe NO ONE at Fox thought it'd be a good idea to mine a well received story for what should be an easy concept to make money off of.
Even AvP2 for PC had a damn good story that would've translated decently to film.
Honestly, they should just take the Halloween H20 or Halloween 2018 approach, and ignore literally everything except the first and maybe second movie, because nothing that came after them is worth keeping anyways. We'll see how it goes. It's bad enough that Ridley Scott and Fox made the theatrical franchise untenable and then added a bunch of needless, pointless BS that makes no sense.
Whatever they do, they have to basically ignore everything that Prometheus and Covenant brought to the table. Just move on from it.

Well that would be my concern, that the human conflict is overegged with modern politics playing a big part in the story. I don't want to see that.So their going for more of a Snowpiercer influence with this show? I guess that could be interesting, but I hope it doesn't stray too far from the Alien mythos and is at its core an Alien show.
My expectations for this show are still pretty low though, but atleast I've completely wiped those new Ridley Scott movies from my mind and maybe or hopefully this can be a pleasant surprise.

Basically I don't want to see a show where the Xenomorphs are not the primary antagonist or an afterthought in some boring class friction story.
Well that's it, if it's a story about real people then yes please. Maybe the fact it's on FX is a good sign, because the only show I can think of in recent memory where the people come across as almost normal is Fargo. It will depend on the execution. But I agree you can't make it solely about the corporate one percenters screwing everyone over. But corporate greed at the expense of blue collar workers has thematically been part of the franchise since its inception. However, it's just ONE of many parts of this franchise.
I don’t think the world needs this. I mean, we’ve complained that the movies have run dry, why would a tv series be any better. In fact, sounds like more runtime will be just so much worse. Alien isn’t the franchise for this.
And I’m calling it now, the ideas/world building/ambition of Prometheus will be infinitely better than whatever this presents.
