For what AVP:R is,I thought it was pretty good. It looks much better on dvd,the first AVP felt cheesie,had the dumb Predator/human team up and totally lacked gore when it came to humans on screen thanks to the PG-13 rating. I didn't care about the humans in AVP:R,for me they just needed to make mistakes and get themselves killed and their butts kicked. I thought the ending was disappointing a bit,everyone on the helicopter should have died. AVP:R felt like the AVP videogame too,and I really liked that feeling. Let's hope the fight between the Yautja and Alien race can be in space if there is another AVP movie announced. John Davis must let the sequel be in space if there is one,I don't think Rothman should be a problem by stopping it from happening.

I'm no professional movie critic,but I damn well know what I want and like when it comes to movies. I have been a fan of the Alien and Yauja race for many years,I really never cared about humans in their movies.

If they do make another one, IMO Joss Whedon (Serenity), Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday) or David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days Of Night) should direct it, and god-dammit give them some freedom to make the movie they want. And a decent budget.

If they do make another one, IMO Joss Whedon (Serenity), Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday) or David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days Of Night) should direct it, and god-dammit give them some freedom to make the movie they want. And a decent budget.

It was alright, what it lacked were likable characters, I didn't really care for any of them. Both brothers were annoying as was the love interest, the woman with the kid was ok but she didn't really do much.

And I don'r really understand what's happening to the Predators, what the hell happened to that sneaky acrobatic creature from the original movie?

I enjoyed Doomsday and 30 Days Of Night,30 Days Of Night is a pretty good vampire movie IMO.

Havent seen Doomsday yet but LOVED DS and TD, 30 Days was awesome too.

Whedon won't do it because he disowned RESSURECTION (which I liked more than the first and third ALIEN movies imo)... Neil Marshall is great but I have a feeling it would be to dimly lit like Bros Strause did... as for David Slade? Hardy Candy and 30Days were amazing, violent, suspensful and well written, he'd be perfect if Fox let him do whatever he wanted.

All 3 have made some incredible movies on limited budgets, but IMO NON of them would work for Fox, especially Whedon and Marshall, unless they gave them creative freedom, which i just dont see happening.

Be careful, don't defend the film just b/c it has Aliens and Predators in it. The film's still sucked.

I didnt think the aliens sucked at all, they just finally made the Predator the badass hunters they should be, not the crap a strong human could probably beat we got in the first movie. And yeah the script and acting were bad, but did you honestly expect anything more from that department.

In this case that's hard to justify since the Aliens were ******s. If I grabbed you by neck and started choking you, I doubt you'd simply wriggle like a worm (hint, hint).

In this case that's hard to justify since the Aliens were ******s. If I grabbed you by neck and started choking you, I doubt you'd simply wriggle like a worm (hint, hint).

They were being choked, dont you know if you have ever been choked, but believe me, it takes the strength and breath out of you, and it was only for a few seconds anyway. The way the alien tricked the Predator at the power plant, and the way they took out the national guard, more than made up for that little sequence.

I will say however, the movie doesnt stand up strong to repeat viewings, my rating of 6 has lowered slightly.

Alien Res is a bit of a mess but the cast is impressive and they have fun in the roles.

The worst thing to come out of the whole AVP mess is that both franchises have been dragged down to a low level.

They are only one step away from Direct-to-DVD hell.

Alien needs a total reboot similar to Batman ............ As for Predator? ... Who knows. I love the character but there needs to be strong human characters to support it.

It was really boring & that just tops off why I hate it. They could've atleast had Newt's & Hicks' pods go a different route & have a spin-off with those two fighting aliens. Would of made up for Alien3 & been better than Alien 4.

Dude, if someone grabs you by the neck, you're going to do everything you can to get out of it. The Aliens did jack all; they didn't use their arms, didn't use their tails, hell they didn't even spit acid!!

Their heads were being held upwards, so spitting acid wouldnt have worked, and the Pred's are very strong, if they choke you, you wont have much strength left.
