It doesn't matter how good the actor is I don't want to see the same villain and "shocking" double cross in every movie.

I suspect Harley will be in Suicide Squad, played by Margot Robbie. perfect casting imo. I think Joker could be referenced in BvS, and if Harley is in, he'll definitely be referenced in SS, he may even appear in that movie too...

Assault on Arkham prominently featured Batman and a bunch of his primary enemies, i wouldn't be surprised if we see a few Batman villains besides Harley in Suicide Squad.

I realize that the new SS lineup kinda disrespects the older comics, but the new lineup is just so damn awesome, i prefer the characters on the new lineup, and they open up the DCCU way more than most of the early roster could.

Deadshot
Deathstroke
Boomerang
Manta
Harley

Waller

and who knows how Lex will factor in...can't wait to see how that plays out

I love seeing Deathstroke and Lex Luthor working together, hopefully we could get that in a Suicide Squad movie.

I definitely want to see Joker again. Soon too. He's a must. For this DCCU to feel complete, we have to see The Joker to Affleck's Batman.

Jack Nicholson was amazing, Heath Ledger was amazing, but i think there's plenty more to do with that character.

Think about it though, Suicide Squad could be the perfect opportunity to show Lex and Joker interacting onscreen....

But, but.... sir Ian McKellen!!!

I'm joking, I get ya. :cwink:

And they have basically been putting the same one story arc onscreen with X-Men movies. It's just recently they finally began making an "Apocalypse" movie. I wonder if they'll ever introduce Mr. Sinister...

If the majority of the Suicide Squad roster consists of the newer line up, you could get so much of it long term.

That's just it though... The Squad movie also needs some powered villains and non powered to be cannon fodder, and most likely the surviving members go on to face their usual heroic sparring partners in the solo films. The idea of it soley being about the current line up is a bit short sighted.

We've had real estate Lex not scientist Lex. The Lex we now know and love isn't overused.

Irrelevant. The point is, Luthor has appeared more times than the Joker, and people only complain about Joker being over-used. It's a double standard. I would rather see Brainiac than Luthor again, just like, TBH, I also would like to see others from Batman's rogue's gallery. I'm just saying, if one has a problem with Joker being overused, then you should have more of a problem with Luthor being over-used.

I love the Olympians/JLA comparisons

Would this be accurate?

Zeus: Superman
Hades: Batman
Athena: Wonder Woman
Poseidon: Aquaman
Hermes: The Flash
Apollo: Green Lantern
Hephaestus: Cyborg

Ya gotta love all these people complaining about Joker being overused in the movies but seem have no problem with Luthor who's had way more live action appearances than Joker.

I hope that by quoting me to complain about the complaining you're not actually trying to say you know how I feel on the matter.

Anyway, pay more attention. People HAVE complained about Luthor. People moaned for years how SR should've had another villain, not same ol' Luthor, and found it worse since it was "real state Luthor" or something like that.

I'm not one to complain about Luthor because I think he is one of those villains that should always be "there", even if he's not doing anything evil, per se. He's a big part of the mythos and I enjoy seeing the character. He is a big part of Metropolis along with Superman. I think Joker works best when he is used less. With him, less is more.

Now, Batman has such a great rogues gallery that making up a third version of the Joker before giving another chance to villains like Mr. Freeze, Riddler, etc seems like a waste to me. With Superman, you have Luthor, Brainiac, um, the Parasite....Uh, the Toyman? :hehe:

Also, I feel like we got a pretty complete version of the Joker in TDK, in spirit anyway, so I'm in no rush to see him. Can't say the same for the movies' Luthor. I like to think of the Joker's return to cinema as an event. That means you have to wait for it to be special.

There. Happy, old man?

Picture this with Cavill as Supers and Larry Davis as Mr Myx.

Istill say a Superman Solo with Lord Vyndtyx as the villain.

Lord Vyndtyx is basically an evil creepy 5D imp-a far better villain than Mxy.He basically was presented as a Devilgod in Morrisons action comics run.

Heres a pic of him in all his glory

The X-Men film series has been hindered by the Magneto obsession. Magneto should not have appeared in every film and did his same old double cross thing. It's like goddamn groundhogs day with that series.
Magneto is the one villain that really represents the other point of view .
He is Xaviers opposite cinematically .

Singer kinda has that trait about him, with DC or Marvel it seems.
We'll see how things go with this next installment, they are finally delving into a new big costumed meta for a villain but....what will magneto lift and whom will he betray in the third act I wonder. Maybe Wolverine?

One thing I credit the mcu for is their appreciation for jumping into big new comicbook centric villains every time(save for the loki situation). Spidey kinda does that but at the same time, I'm kinda tired of Goblin.

Hopefully with Snyder on board we'll be seeing all sorts of new and interesting rogues and antagonists going forward. I'm also hoping for original batman villains.

I never minded the Goblin. The Goblin IMO was great how in the Raimi films he had a lasting impact. I don't remember a single thing Lex did in Superman 2 or Superman 4 other then create Nuclear Man. I don't remember anything important Magneto did in X2 or X3 in fact I have no memory of those films.

I like how Harry had a decent into his father's footsteps and the development of that the 3 films was well done.

I don't mind his execution(for the most part), I mind that 'it's always goblin'. And Sony wonders why their property might be feeling redundant and tired to some. Fox and Sony. Returns suffered this similar phenomena and yea with Luthor.

I'm pretty surprised WB avoided this with Joker. That restraint paid off for them imo.

Well Joker died in 89 and Heath died in real life. Joker was gonna be in Shumacher's 5th Batman film with Jack returning in a Scarecrow nightmare.

From left to right:

Hephaestus, Hermes, Athena, Zeus, Hades, Apollo, Poseidon.

Cyborg?, Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern?, Aquaman.

Though I find Apollo more befitting to Superman, with all the "sun aspect", but who would be Zeus then?

Now when I think of it Hephaestus works well for Green Lantern, they both have creativity and "crafting" skills.

I can't make Apollo to fit anyone. And would prefer to use Martian Manhunter instead of Cyborg, but I can't make him fit any of those Olympians.

Would prefer the big seven, but Green Arrow it is for Apollo then, though he's not the god of hunt, just archery and it's one of the less important things from the list.

That's just it... As cool as Morrison's pointing out the mythological analogy was in the 90's, it's not like everything is an exact fit. Superman is as much Hercules as he is Zeus. Is Batman really like Hades or is he more like Odysseus? Flash is obviously Hermes, but in function, he's certainly not the JLA messenger, nor do I think the Rogues would agree that he's the patron of thieves.

Apollo was primarily the God of Light...GL makes green light constructs
