You know who has a good relationship with WB, was rumored to direct JL, and has been involved in comic book films?

Lana Wachowski

I like the idea of the Wachowskis on a DC project. I really think they'll be announced for one of these movies.

I'd love if they did Green Lantern.
Bruce Timm should direct a Batfleck film if Batfleck doesn't wanna do it.

Oh my ****ing god. If they got Bruce Timm and Paul Dini to handle the writing and directing of a Batman movie. :wow:

Also, Krypton's suggestion of Patty Jenkins is on the right track.

Bigelow and Jenkins are the most obvious names. I can see either one of them doing it. Neither would be my top pick, but i trust WB's judgment, they're not going to let this get ****ed up.

And i trust a female director to take this seriously, because everyone knows that WW is THE female superhero. Her solo movie is kind of a big deal, they can't be sloppy.

Bringing the first female superhero in this new era of CBMs to the screen could be seen as quite a good challenge I'd imagine Bigelow at least talk about it. Even though she may like doing other films this would likely be one of the biggest films she'd be a part of so I think that would entice many her and directors.

Whoever takes it on is going to be under a lot of pressure. Bigelow is like the biggest female director, that would be a huge get for the WB. The film would have instant legitimacy, I almost want her take it for that reason.

Probably not, but she did do that one sci-fi film. I forgot the name of it.

I'd forgotten Jolie was a director now. Interesting. Was her war film any good?

Fun fact: Bigelow beat her ex-husband James Cameron for Best Picture with The Hurt Locker.

Strange Days, really good movie. But that was another era for her...hoping, we never know.

Does the confirmation of cyborg in BvS lead more to speculate that robotics and potentially Metallo will be an important part of the movie? I venture to say yes ... :o

There's only pressure if you have no ****ing idea what your doing.

Tim Burton = Never read a Batman comic but knew how to make a Batman film
Bryan Singer = Never read a X-Men comic, watched cartoons to prepare, made Wolverine & the X-Men
Sam Raimi = Grew up on Spidey, favorite comic of his as a kid, knew how to make a Spidey film

The WWII POW movie isn't out yet but the final trailer is and it looks pretty accomplished. Who knows what the final product is gonna be like? But it seems to be a good sized production with a wide scope and apparently even some VFX, with sequences of WWII areal battles and on the Ocean. Again, I haven't been in love with her directing so far, but the trailer made me take notice for sure.

Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin)

Ava DuVernay (Middle of Nowhere, Selma)

I agree.

It's already speculated that Lex will own Star Labs. Add in that Scoot McNairy's character will be sporting some form of prosthetics (very likely robotic), and Cyborg's ties to Star Labs, its likely that this will all be a precursor and setup for Metallo in the third act.

Unbroken is going to kill with critics for a few reasons IMO, not least of which is that it's a very compelling true story.

WWII films tend to go great unless they're directed by George Clooney. :o

That film was a giant piece of ****. How can you have Bill Murray and John Goodman in it without having them do anything at all?

True, the only reservation I have is that the screenplay is by the Coen brothers, and their stuff is usually very off-beat and kind of left field. If it's mostly a strict adaptation of the 2010 book though it'll probably be great.

If WB nabs Jolie, that's practically a homerun. She attracts talent (both known and unknown), and it's going to be nothing but positive coverage all throughout production. Especially when she herself is a real-life ambassador not unlike Diana.

Can you imagine a DC film with talents the likes of the Coen brothers and Roger Deakins?!

for Best Picture with The Hurt Locker.

Oh.

I wanna see Francis Lawrence direct Wonder Woman.

Personally I don't think Wonder Woman should automatically have a female director.

It seems to me like pandering. The best director should get the job, regardless of gender.

Same with Black Panther. Wheoever has the best vision, with the most talent, should direct.

I can see the need for a female director is a way to protect the film from criticism of misogyny or sexism, but even so I can still see it like this.

A provocative shot of Diana is shown during film. Critic sees this and says, "what kind of chauvinistic man thought of this shot!?!" Critic sees a women directed the film and says, "what kind of chauvinistic man of an executive or produced forced this shot in."

If Cuaron doesn't direct Wonder Womans solo outing I'll be seriously disappointed.:csad:

I don't know there always seems to be excuses to not let women or black directors direct any big budget features. I feel like if a woman is suggested people feel like she's not right for the gig automatically. Not everyone feels that way but a large chunk seem too. That's bothersome to me.
