I feel that if Superman is happy in this film, people will complain about him being happy after "murdering" everyone. If he's not happy, people will complain about WB wanting to have all their heroes be brooding and all that whatnot.

Why wouldn't MurderMan be happy? He got to spend the whole third act of MOS dropping buildings on those pesky civilians and snapping the neck of the hero who was trying to stop him.:o

It is a conundrum.
Easiest way around this, give him things to be happy about. Easy obstacles and clear victories would be a start.:yay:

:funny: snapping the neck of "the hero who was trying to stop him". Half the time, I feel like that's how people really took it
:hehe:

Give him things to be happy about like his mother, Lois, job at the DP, yes. But never underestimate the power of what people can complain about. :oldrazz:

Superman should be happy most of the time, as much as possible, and be careful not to repeat what he did with Zod, and try to find an alternative.

It clearly wasn't something he aspired to do, so I'm not worried about him snapping necks again.

Didn't Joe Quesada say something trollish like that, that Zod was the true hero of the film?

Because genocide is such a noble act and stuff.

You're not reading correctly into "people's" opinion's, then, at all. Believe it or not, people don't complain just for the sake of complaining. You seem to think MOS's way of doing things was the one and only perfect way to go about it. Nuh uh.

I don't think it was perfect. But some complainers have definitely over-exagerrated things.

But if he's happy he'll have to smile. And smiling too much will make his face hurt. Worse than getting used to Krypton's atmosphere in my opinion.
All that smiling never hurt Stan Lee.
Don't think it will hurt Superman.

Welcome to the Hype!

It's my favourite movie, I knew I was gonna love it from day one just had a feeling (had the same feeling for Batman Begins too). Of course I know it has its flaws (what film doesn't?) but to me it's pretty much beat for beat perfection. I think the reason the film has been like marmite us that people hold Superman up to their own preconceived notions and different standards to the rest.

Hi, always good seeing another with love for the movie :)

Really, enough with the moody Superman. I want Superman to smile while he's killing hundreds of innocent people.

Laugh like a maniac too.

They need to introduce Jimmy Olsen so that Superman can be a proper dick.

Superman: "Here Jimmy, I bought you this cool leather jacket for your birthday."

Jimmy: "Aw gee! Thanks, Superman!"

*Superman disintegrates the jacket w/heat vision*

Superman: "trolololololol!" *flies away*

Jimmy: *cries*
