Honestly, I just don't think Affleck's going to do as many films as we all want him to do because of how active he is a a director. Would it shock anyone if he was just used in the Justice League films and via a story element, someone else was Batman in the solo films? Dick or Damien?

It contradicts what Jeremy Irons said about his role as Alfred

Yeah but Irons may have not seen the previous films. The way he said it, i thought it was a little weird. Alfreds a little more hands on? What does that mean? Caine said the same thing, and it was true. I dont know how Alfred can be any more hands on than Caine, unless he just means he's all for his mission. But so was Alfred in the beginning and so was Gough. Irons also said it was a tiny role.

Affleck is definitely around for Batman till 2020 at the very least. I am sure his deal was pretty sweet, must have included greenlight authority and the pick of projects to direct for life in exchange for taking the role.

Affleck is not an idiot, he knew that taking on Batman meant dealing with unrealistic expectations post the Dark Knight trilogy, and dealing with angry fans who can't let go of Daredevil yet. And despite all that, he took it on, considering that he did it when he was basically sitting on a blank check for anything post Argo.

Well, he did still have that dumb joke he always makes about the title. And he seemed to rag on Alfred, so...

This is how I think WB and Affleck both get what they want. He may be in the solo films, but that doesn't mean he HAS TO be the lead in them.
