I'm guessing your hatred of FPS lies with Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Play Bioshock. FPS game with no multiplayer (well 1 and Infinite doesn't have multiplayer, 2 does) and Bioshock 1 is proclaimed as the greatest game of all time.

What type of games were you into?

Survival horror (which doesn't truly exist anymore), platformers/action adventure and some RPGs. I just don't like the First Person perspective, never have.
