Imagine if Batman uses Lois against Superman in some way, ala his use of WW in the Red Son fight. That would really up the stakes!

He also used her against him in Hush.

Hush was the best Batman vs Superman fight because Superman was only barely holding back since he was drugged by Ivy.

Batman using the lead lined sewers was cool as well as the Kryptonite ring. But at the end of the day he could only slow Supes down. Lois was his backup plan.

And at the end of all this conflict, they'll both shake hands. Henry said as much. It'll be an important point of the movie, to see how Superman inspires people, even in dark times where it seems all is lost.

I'm kind of torn on the idea of Batman needing to be inspired by Superman. I know it pretty much has to be happen with the Justice League and all. One thing I loved about Rises was how Bruce overcame all that darkness in the bleakest of times on his own.

I guess a lot both Bats and Supes fans are going to have to make some compromises and let certain things go in order for this team-up to work.

I don't see how it's a compromise. If you go back and look at the comics when Tim Drake became Robin...it was pretty much the same situation. At that time Batman had grown more violent and reckless.
Having Superman be the one to pull him from the brink solidifies their friendship and makes it a give and take type relationship where they both learn things from each other.

Superman triumphing Batman's cynicism is a wonderful plot device to move both characters forward without betraying their core values.

And I thank you for reminding me of the film which features a magical back-brace and a modern day 80s throwback to Rocky's training and comeback. Yeah... I'd rather that stay far in the past.
