And let's also not forget the x-factor in all this: Lex's manipulation.
You don't destroy someone just because they MIGHT go bad. ANYONE can go bad.
Ever since we heard that line I've been suspicious on whether there is actually any modulating at all and Affleck can just do that with his voice.

You don't destroy someone just because they MIGHT go bad. ANYONE can go bad. Bruce is completely ignoring that fact. His behavior reminds me of Minority Report, where criminals are arrested for potential crimes. That is not only against civil liberties but totally illogical and leads to disaster.
You realize that people are capable of going crazy, changing their behaviors, and acting out of character, right? Apply those possibilities to a man who can see through walls, shoot fire from his eyes, and fly. All Bruce has to go on in the beginning is Superman's word that he won't go bad, and frankly, that wouldn't be enough for me if the latter was a real person.
I think you're looking at this from the perspective of someone who knows that Superman won't go bad, as opposed to a character in the universe he inhabits. That person doesn't have the benefit of comic books, video games, television series, and movies to tell them that Superman is a good person.
You probably haven't seen Justice League: Doom. Batman tends to make these decisions both discreetly and indiscreetly, whether or not they're logical or against civil liberties.

You're also not a guy that lost everything he loved and spends his nights crippling criminals, so...Um....no. Superman kept the world from being destroyed in MoS. If it was real life, I'd be grateful and give him the benefit of the doubt until I saw a change occur. When you owe someone your freaking life, wanting to kill them because they are more powerful than you is absurdly ungrateful.
This has nothing to do with my knowledge of Superman lore...but is based on how I feel Superman's actions proved his worth in MoS.
Have we actually seen Bruce saying "he brought the war to us"?

Superman isn't anyone. A five minute temper tantrum from him can level an entire city. You're applying ordinary standards to an extraordinary man. You don't treat a nuclear bomb the same way you would a grenade.

Interesting, thanks. I too had assumed he was wearing the suit when saying that line.Yes. New TV spot. https://***********/BatmanvSuperman/status/691440801906176002
He thinks it's acceptable to destroy Superman if there is even a 1% percent chance he's evil. He thinks a 1% chance deserves to be treated as an absolute certainty.
That is no way rational, and should not be treated as such.
True, but just because a nuclear bomb might go off, doesn't mean you destroy it. If that was the case, nobody would have them.
