I loved this part. He comes back from Smallville and in his Superman suit he calls for his mother.

Then they hug. In his suit. Awesome.

He saying no one ever says it's all downhill after the first kiss. It's a hackneyed line, much like "I think he's kinda hot", and a bit tone deaf. A poor attempt at humor.

Oh right, well I didn't think either of those lines were that bad tbh, both always make me chuckle slightly. I actually don't like people saying no one ever says such and such, how the hell can anyone actually say that? There's billions of people in the world.

Yes. No humor in superhero films. EVER. Unless they're Marvel superhero films.

Oh come one let people have their own opinions. No need for sarcasm.

Watching the Dark Knight Returns Part 2 now in my gearing up for BvS. I still don't like Miller's characterisation of Superman much (even though it does work for the story) but he's better depicted in the animated film than he is in the book.

Still I love this panel from the book still

Seem Snyder took that pose (or a similar one for when Superman catches in the rocket in BvS. I sure as hell don't mind Snyder using imagery from it for Supes cause there's some amazing Supes imagery in DKR.

I watched Superman returns a bit back. I want more amazing feats of Supermans strength like they had in that film. When he stopped the plane and lifted that damn mountain I was amazed.

The immediate aftermath of the anihilation of hundreds of thousand of people is not the best place for forced romance/bad humor. Unless they're Marvel films. But that's just me.

Goyer gonna Goyer, thank God he's gone.

Humor is good. Bad humor is not good. I didn't really like the "downhill" line. I thought it was forced. The "I think he's kinda hot" line was a little better, but it did seem a bit tone deaf (I guess I would have preferred it if the final minutes had focused on the significance of the Black Zero Event, as well as outlining what Superman would do now).

Why do marvel films get a pass from you? Hypocrite much?

It's a well known fact that Frank Miller hates Superman and TDKR was in fact his first sacrifice to the Batalter. :o

Because I hold them in a far lower standard. They have no artistic integrity for me, like toy commercials. I take DC movies seriously.

BTW Can we stop calling names, Broseph44? Please? I thought it was clear the minimum age for the forum is 12.

I'm still not keen on Cyborg's solo movie, he's not ever been interesting enough on his own. No villains, not enough storylines to sustain an entertaining movie.

Sorry but I don't want to see an entire movie about a former human adapting to robot life. Do a couple scenes about that though, sure.

The far better option is to make Cyborg a Titans film

Don't start a marvel vs DC thing. And me calling you a hypocrite makes me a 12 year old? You making that comment alone makes you seem more immature. You and your friend Evil were very trollish in this thread today. If you wanna continue so go ahead. Probably won't end well for you though

any bold predictions for the trailer? i'll say aquaman will be shown.

I didn't, you did. I don't like their movies, but it's fine that people like them. They're just not my type.

You sound like that passive aggressive kid in school who was always threatening to "just wait until Mrs. Johnson knows what's up". Like Mr Freeze said... chill.

It's odd, isn't it? I avoid things I hate, or think I'll hate.

For the most part I would agree with that. But in a situation where you are passionate about a character, but that character is used horribly I can't avoid it. I love Spiderman but SM3 and TASM 2 were just terrible uses of the character, and his villains I enjoy too. (how could Venom have been done so poorly while Sandman was so good?) What annoys me in the case of many MoS haters is that they don't have a problem with the character but choose to hate because of Snyder and other outside details rather than the in film material. When I hear ignorant statements like "this movie will suck be cause Hack Snyder is a bad director" it frustrates me because there is no substance to the statement; there's nothing to exemplify or support their claim.

I love MoS, though there are a few parts that could have been better. I can see where some people feel that there is a lack of first person character building. I personally don't see anything wrong with explaining Supermans character through people like father Kent, Lois, and Jor El. I also didn't see need to extensively develop characters like Perry and Col. Hardy. Last, there was a few weak lines like taunting Zod about power overload, but the very strong majority was well written. It finally brought the epic scale fight that a Superman fight should be, not just once but twice. Combined with all the nice easter eggs, I don't see how any Superman fan didn't enjoy the film.

I want to see more of that Day of the Dead scene. Maybe Superman in front of his statue, if there is such scene at all, of course. :D

Well if this is anything to go on then I reckon we will

I actually think that's part of Superman Returns problem though Superman's moments are pretty much all feats of strength and not a lot else.

Continued....
