Oddly enough, I can't think of one mutant telekinetic who has ever manipulate matter at a sub-atomic level. The only person I know that can actually do this is Sersi of the Avengers. IIRC, even when Jean manipulate matter on a cosmic scale it only went to the atomic level. Most high level TKs can only manipulate matter on a molecular level.

Nate and Jean both can. You cannot change air/anything into clothes/anything else without re-arranging the structure of atoms involved.

Well, if you want to go that route then Storm can also rearrange the structure of atoms.

As you can see I'm all for that line of thinking.

Anyway...go back and check, I'm almost 100% sure they alway say molecules. AAMOF, if you read Pheonix's entry in the OHOTMU, it will say that Pheonix has control on a molecular level.

The way I see it is that Sue and Reeds genes got messed up or maybe they both carry the dormant X-Gene and they passed it on.

No. They are not mutants. Franklin is. It's the same way with Iceman's parents, they're not mutants but they have a mutant son. The radiation didn't affect any of Reed or Sue's genes to become the X-gene; At least no writer ever wrote that it did and hopefully they never will.

Uh...not really. This is a discussion about Alpha mutants and where talking about an Alpha mutant. Unless this discussion goes on for 5 or more pages, I really don’t see a problem.

The picture I posted was just a simple way of showing that the lines between Alpha mutants and Omega mutants are still very blurry.

There no unstable molecules for her to stimulate in that pic. AAMOF, she not wearing anything in that picture. Exactly how she formed clothing with that much detail is unknown to me.

So are you saying the Science of The X-men book is a lie? And saying "she moves the clouds as they are" makes no sort of sense at all. She TELEKINETICALLY moves masses of moisture and clouds.

Here the thing, Marvel has always said that Storm manipulates the weather psionically.

Psionic: An adjective referring to psions (a theoretical particle of energy produced by the mind that is involved in the psi powers.), to the powers or energies based on psions (e.g., psionic powers, psionic energy), or to mechanical means to stimulate the natural psi powers. Abbreviated to psi only when describing the powers.

Storm can also be consider a psi

psi: (Short for psionic or psychic.) The term for any and all extrasensory and extraphysical powers stemming from the mind, specifically astral projection, clairvoyance, levitation, precognition, psycho kinesis, telepathy, and teleportation.

As far as I know and according to Marvel there is only one ways to manipulate matter with psionic energy (maybe two depending on how you look at it.)

psycho kinesis: The psi ability to move or manipulate physical matter without physically touching it. The word is synonymous with telekinesis, which has the added connotation of greater distance being involved between the matter being manipulated and the manipulator.

Or

telekinesis: The psi ability to move or manipulate physical matter without physically touching it, especially over long distances.

Now if you want to say that Storm has a specialized form of telekinesis I could understand that. Her powers pretty much work on the same basic level of Gypsy Moth and other mutant elementals like Magma, Pyro, Iceman (I think), Hurricane and many others.

(*Old School information* If you look at any of the old Marvel collector cards, you will see that Storm’s power are categorized under mental abilities as a 6, making her a master psi on the level of Jean and Prof X)
