That might have worked

Yes people definitly ***** about the movie too much. And the guy who said it's one thing to dislike a movie, another to act like it physically harmed you....I owe you a beer. I don't get people who compare movies to being raped and stuff. That's ******ed. One guy compared AVP to cancer. That's how messed up it is....

But thanks, glad to know I am not the only one :D

I enjoyed Van helsing its a fun movie to watch when im bored. Wished it was all in black and white.

Myself, I wish they wouldn't have used so much CGI.

They could have easily created Dracula, Frankenstein and Mr. Hyde with animatronics and prostethics.

I think it was overdone, the FX were garish. Also, the story/plot was boring and looked cliched. I said 'looked' because I really couldn't watch the whole film. It just didn't do it for me.

I liked the director's-can't remember his name-work on The Mummy. That was a nice balance of FX, action, and humor. The Mummy Returns wasn't as great, but Van Helsing was too way over the top.

I regret seeing it in the theater, but I'll gladly watch it on cable whenever it comes on, and I've got nothing better to do.

Yeah, the CGI was just too much. I lot of the creature effects could have been done practically, or like in the case of Underworld Evolution, a mixture of make-up and prosthetics and CGI for the wings. Furthermore, Richard Roxborough as Dracula got on my damn nerves!! And the vampire brides were all terrible "actresses"!!

I liked it. I don't know why there was so much VanHelsing bashing going on, but there are far worse movies that deserve the kind of bashing this film recieved, this wasn't one of them.

i liked it and the animated london assignment was even better

I like Van Helsing, I have the SE DVD and watch it now and then, it's a cool popcorn flick that never bores me. Had this come out in the 80s with practical effects instead of CGI it would be a cult classic. I don't see much chance for a sequel though, seeing as Dracula and his brides are all dead, the werewolf curse was cured and Frankenstein's monster sailed off into the sunset. That's another thing I liked about the movie, no loose ends. The inclusion of Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde was pretty cool, even though he wasn't one of the original monsters from Universal's classic 50s movies. Had the mummy, the creature from the black lagoon and the invisible man made cameo appearances, it would've been a new millenium Monster Squad.

I loved it, sure, it was silly, sure Hyde sucked, but it was cready eye candy and it definitely OWNED IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE Mummy Returns

There are some movies that I can undertand what do people see that's so bad about it, and others that I can't.

For example, I don't know what's so wrong about "Van Helsing". It's a cool, mindless monster movie.

I mean, when you heard about a movie about a guy fighting Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolf Man, you weren't expecting Shakespeare, did you?

See signature.

Shakespeare was writtin for the mass audience at a time when everyone wore monocoles and those things you wear on your back to make your ass look huge...in other words,a bunch of pretentious rennisannce a**holes...and we arent comparing it to Shakespear THEN anyway, it's comparing it to how Shakespeare is seen now, ie, one of the greatest writers ever (although personally, I think he's an irrelivant, over-rated, hack)

I wished you were the only person who enjoyed it. The idea that more than one of you did is something I don't want to even contemplate.

You know what drove me the most nuts about this show??? (not that anyone cares but I'm going to tell you anyways) The woman that was in this show, that ran around with VH....she got beat up so bad. Dropped from the air onto roofs and the ground, thrown against walls, thrown across rooms, just beat up way beyond anything a normal person would ever survive. And she would just get up and keep fighting or running or whatever. And then what happens....she get's thrown into a ****ing couch and dies!! A PADDED, SOFT couch. Are you ****ing kidding me???? WTF just happened there!!! I wanted to just bash my head into the TV when that happened.

IT WAS A ****ING COUCH!!!!!!!!! At least have her hit a rock or something.

All the damege her body acumulated too the toll when he swung her like a rag doll.

No offense, but you're way off base. Shakespeare was watched by people from all social classes. The rich people in the expensive seats and the poor at the front, often with no seats, who shouted and threw food all the way thru the performances.

I would rather get my nuts caught in a garbage disposal than watch this trash again.

Don't be ridiculous.....Van Helsing was much worse than that. ;)

To be fair, a huge werewolf ran into her full speed, kinda like an elephant running at 60mph....you ain't gonna survive no matter what you land
on. It's physics.
